    Hi thanks for the help but it was unuseful as i clearly stated that the unit won't initialize and i cannot even get to the display screen,i think the problem was from improper shut down like i said it says that the IDE,HD,CD, is ok but won't load up from that screen!i've looked in all manuals and tried everything but it won't even let me into the display,if you could help me further it'll be much appreciated thanks Gabe!

Are you able to access the utility menu by pressing shift & F4? If you can then: 1. Press UTILITY. 2. Press PAGE until ?PrmIni? appears above F1. 3. Press F1 (PrmIni). 4. Turn the Time/Value dial to select: ? MIXER & UTILITY ?to initialize both the mixer and UTILITY parameters. ? MIXER ?to initialize only the mixer parameters. ? UTILITY ?to initialize only the UTILITY parameters. 5. Press F5 (OK)?a confirmation screen appears. 6. If you?re sure you want to proceed, press ENTER/YES. To cancel the operation, press EXIT/NO. This should restore the factory default settings.

    OK two more things you can try.

    I have found the following procedure to reset:

    1. Press and hold both snare 2 and FX2 as you are turning the power on.
    2. The system should now boot up. To format drive, hold shift and press F1 which will take you to the project list.
    3. Press the page button three times for ?FMT DRV? and press OK. Then follow instructions as they appear on the screen.

    If this fails then try a system update from a PC or MAC the update files & readme can be downloaded from Roland's website below:

    Good Luck!

Check the bios settings, in boot settings you must set CD unit as first boot device, then you start PC with recovery disk 1 inside.

This is the message you see when a version of OS X has been installed on a Mac that needs a later version of OS X at minimum, or when the custom gray install disc for one model of Mac has been used to initialize another model of Mac.
You posted this under "iBook G4," and the platform in the error messages says "PowerBook." Provided you posted in the right place, that confirms the above diagnosis.
Initialize your iBook with the proper gray disc, or a retail OS X installation disc, and it will operate properly.

Dell 8400 e210882 .hd on ide pri .error initializing pci express nic bridge. drive 0 not found. drive 5 not found.the hd is seen on drive 4,and tests ok.flop. and cd rom off in bios. where do i put ide...

When installing hard drive much sure that the jumpers are set to primary position or ds master on some drives. Make sure they don't conflict with other drive or cd rom.

Now if having issue with bios error download the lastest bios update and run it. If not sure ask a friend who has do it before and get some help. The error sounds like a bios upgrade is required to solve problem. Let me know how you go.

Hitachi 400GB internl drive not seen.

Hi,

Initially, pls :
  • check/replace IDE cable used;
  • check power connector;
  • verify master/slave jumper setting;
  • reset CMOS/BIOS to default;
  • change motherboard IDE connection from IDE1 to IDE2 or vice versa;
  • try as a standalone, temporarily remove any other IDE device such as the DVD/CD.
If all else fails and thee HDD works/checks OK in other machines, you may need to update the BIOS of the Asus A8V deluxe. Pls start here. Click on "DOWNLOAD", on the :Input Model to Search" type A8V, in Select Category, choose BIOS, click on Search Info button, follow on screen instructions

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Hi, please check the power connector to the drive. if it is ok, restart the pc, enter BIOS setup, check whether the drive is detected or not in the drive configuration. if not there, check the jumper settings once again. for the new motherboards with one IDE and SATA interfaces, jumper settings are important. once i had the same problem.

Roland vs 2000cd studio workstation/harddisk recorder.

I have figured out a way to get around this problem without losing your data or sending it to Roland. I have three roland 2480s and have 4 hard drives. Buy another spare drive and when you load up to a different IDE drive shut it down, then put the old drive back into the unit and it will boot from the last known ide. Make sure it is not the same IDE # that was giving you the problem. You will get at your files but you better start to backup and defrag. I will not delete files on my roland unless I am willing to defrag. Buy an extra drive from a third party. You can see a company that sells this stuff on ebay and they are very good. "VS something store."
