Koss CS-95 Headset Mic Not Working with MacBook Laptop

Headset works fine (previously with PC), but mic is non functioning with MacBook. In Mac System Preferences, there seems to be no other option to "recognize" the Koss set other than a "Line In" option. Even that doesn't work. Do I need "driver" software loaded for this headset to get my Mac to "recognize" it? Thanks, Robert (MrDad)

SOURCE: I am using a Koss

Windows isn't directing sound to the headset plug. This can be changed under control panel sound.
Sometimes it will asign itself if you turn on the computer with the headset already plugged in.
Also check the settings under all programs --- accessories -- entertainment -- volume control
and make sure the volume isnt too low or muted for the device.

LG Headset can pair with PC and I can hear but the mic is not working

I have this sale problem. I am using a rocketfish micro dongle to connect my LG tone to my PC and I can hear fine. However, when I set the bluetooth mic to default, I only hear these random blips and pings and it shows nothing received in the audio bar.

Trust headset HS2900 suitable for apple macbook?

On the MacBook there is no microphone port, if you look closely, it is not a microphone plug, it is a line in plug. Line in cannot record sounds from a microphone without amplification. What I would recommend doing is purchasing this adapter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812186035&cm_re=usb_audio-_-12-186-035-_-Product- With this adapter, you plug your headset and mic into it and then it plugs into the USB port on your MacBook. Then you can just unplug it from the USB port when you are done.

Toshiba satelite isn't recognizing that the

Have you tried using a different mic? If its a cheap mic It may have very well just quit working(or never worked).
Is it a new laptop? If not, any previous issues/problems?

"Apparently" the drivers are updated? "Apparently" isn't exactly a good term to use when it comes to something like drivers. Its either: Yes, they are or No, they are not. Make sure they are first.

To test if the mic is/isn't working go to Control Panel> Sounds and Audio Devices>Advanced Button(Bring up the Mixer)>Properties>Make sure Mic is checked in the list. Go back to the mixer, and un-mute the mic and slide the volume bar all the way if it isn't already. Now talk into the mic, is it playing threw the speakers? Yes? No?

From what you've provided I would guess its just a bad/broke mic. I'd suggest investing in something better, like a headset with the mic built in(as you'll probably need one at some point anyways).

Mic doesn't work.

I am guessing that if you have tried all of that and it is not working then maybe it just shorted out. Try wriggling it around to see if it goes in and out. If so then there is your problem. Shorts in wiring are tricky to fix but i would suggest just getting a new device.

Driver headphones

Do you mean a software driver? There are no drivers needed to connect to the PC or MAC. Do you mean the speaker itself?

Mokrophone is not working

Found the problem... What Apple has is a line-in port...it requires a pre-amp to boost the signal of your mic. A PC likely has a mic-in port.

They're different ports...very similar but they accept different levels of input. Apple likely wants you to use their built-in mic for mic use and the line-in port for line-level audio sources.

Thsi appears to be our solution... Griffin iMic / USB Audio Interface
What a pain.
