This morning I turned on the TV and after about 5 minutes I heard a cracking sound and the screen turned blue with white lines on all channels. What does the blue screen and lines mean? I did check another TV and the cable system is working. I also turned the TV off and still the same.
Also this is after a recent move from Las Vegas, NV to Albuquerque, NM. Do you think the move had something to do with it? All my property had been stored for one week in over 100 degree tempatures.

Re: SONY TRINITRON TV 36"
I think you had an arc in the high voltage circuit which zapped the blue drive circuit to the picture tube. This could have been caused by the high temperatures the your set was subjected to.

Have heard of this issue,in most cases while using HDMI cable.Try switching to component cable hookup.(Red/Blue/Green RCA type plugs). This will still give you Hi-Def.(don't forget to get a Red/White cord set for the audio also, unless you get a 5-way cord that does both).
We used to say have a short service on the patio and buy a new set---damaged panel display unit is more than set cost (if it is even available) Let it go---when damaged it can instantly damage other boards/parts in the set.
Run a car with no oil and see what happens........
EASY! ok the 4th video processing unit is malfunctioning, if it is a Piano affect like the keys on the piano, then that can be fixed under your 1year warrenty after your 1year warrenty it will cost $200, but i could be wrong, i never studied panasonic plasma casue they ****, next time get a samsung.
the worst contrast and video ajustments, thats a panasonic.
'I to am getting only wavy blue lines, no sound, doesn't even show channel indicators. TV was off for 4 days, came home turned it on and ten minutes later this screen appeared, it wont even show the menu screen, different channels or video inputs no sound either.
Yes, you should still have sound, providing that you have an antenna
connected and are tuned to a channel. If you have a vcr or dvd player
to hook up to it try that and see if you have sound.
No sound while viewing a tuned in channel or via a vcr/dvd player is
not a good sign. It may have cracked the PCB inside the tv. A cracked
PCB, depending on the severity, can also be repaired.
You really won't know the severity of any internal damage until it is opened up and checked over.
Is the line on the screen Horizontal (left to right) or Vertical (up
and down) and is it centered on the screen? A vertical line would
indicate that it may be a cracked PCB (Printed Circuit Board).
I called westinghouse with a similar problem(my picture shows up but all the white turns blue or somtimes pink). they say the problem is similar to that of the xbox 360's red ring of death problem. Now what needs to be done is the unit needs to be unplugged completely for about 30 minutes. this allows the unit to completely cool down. and when the unit restarts and heats up the troubled connections will reflow and all will be fixed. I tried this and it worked well for my TV. but it is only a temp fix and will need to be done again if the problem occurs.
