Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

1 Answer

Playstation 2 won't come on

I have a playstation 2 that won't come on after a power surge. The TV plugged into the same outlet is fine. This has been a great device up until that time. Are there small steps (power cord, switch, fuses, etc. to try first)? Would like to try and fix it myself.

i also have the same problem but don't know about the power surge. We went to a Hannah Montana concert and it worked fine before we left. My son played it at an aunts house during that time, and when we returned home,no power after connecting the power cord. The set up is a little wierd. I have a dc outlet on the back, to which an adapter is connected and then the ps2 cord like my dad and brother have. I was going to try my dad's cord to see if that was the problem, but the shapes of connectors weren't compatible. Should I try buying another cord anyway?

Ok, I understand that it was plugged in during a power surge. Was it on? Becuase what I would do I keep it unplugged to prevent the fuse from melting! I would be happy to arrange a live chat thing. If i don't get it fixed it is free!!!!! Please e-mail me at [email protected] to set one up!

2. While turned on, unplug the power cords for the TV and device from the electrical outlet.
3. Disconnect the HDMI cables from the TV and other product.
4. Wait 60 seconds.
5. While the HDMI cables are disconnected, plug the power cords back into the electrical outlet.

Do i need a power adaptor for my tv

it should use the standard outlet plug that came with it. Each brand has different types of plugs if yours doesn't have one. If you don't have one, amazon is a cheap place to find cords. If you're asking whether the tv should be plugged into a multi-outlet surge protector. Yes, it is safer to protect your tv from power surges and power outages with such a device.

Try disconnecting all HDMI cables and plugging the TV into a new wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, it may have been caused by a small power surge from either your wall outlet or one of your source devices.

I have a 55" Panasonic flat screen that won't turn

Try disconnecting all of your HDMI cables and plugging the power cord of the TV into another wall outlet. If this resolves the issue, you may have had a small power surge from either your wall outlet or one of your source devices. It is recommended to connect your TV to a surge protector if you haven't done so already.

Please try connecting the TV to a different wall outlet and check if that helps.

Surge protector shuts off while playing PS3

swap to another surge protector. if it still does it, it is a power surge at the outlet, if it does not, the Surge Proctector has worn out. have someone with the appropriate knowlege have a look at the outlet as well. older outlets especially tend to wear to the point where the plug literally falls out of the wall.
