Question about Combi Cosmo DX Stroller

Sitting or lying?

I have used this stroller and was satisfied with it. I wanted to use it for my upcoming baby, but my sister suggested that it is better for the baby to have a pram style stroller, in which the baby is lying rather than sitting. What do you think?

I think that it depends on the age. For a newborn the baby would mostly want to be laying down but as it gets older it would want to sit up more than lay. You should get one that has both options.

Let me know if this helped :)

I disagree with Furonda.
Brand new babies should be laid done flat for the first few months. if they are forced to sit upright, it can cause incorrect forming of bones.
New born babies should only be carried in the car sit that fixes to the frame and following the weight, size restrictions. This has an integrated head/neck support system too, to prevent excess movement in car or stroller.

Hope that helps but maybe too late.
Good luck and probably now Congratulations.

Well I understand that a new baby must be able to lay flat as their spine can be damaged. They must not be in a car seat for more than two hours for this reason.

Lying nor sitting (within reason) is not harmfull to your baby. personally i prefer the lie down buggies such as the traditional style silvercross..although there alot of lovely cheaper ones with the lie down feature. My reson for this is because newborn babies are constantly growing in the first year and should have alot of free space to wriggle around and some of the chair buggies cannot be as supporting to a newly born baby. i think the most convenient but personally the worst buggy ever invented was the one with the car seat! ahhh, people come on... you buy these awful inventions even when you dont have a car....why...?... because its quicker to get the baby out the buggy, easier to carry arround and more convenient... well i got news for you... BABIES ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE CONVENIENT. do you ever look at a beautiful newborn baby in one of those travell car seat buggies and think how squashed up and uncomfertable they look? i do. well thats my sugestions, its up to you huni, mother knows best....

I also disagree with your sister, I have now used my valco rebel for 3 children and they were very happy in it.

I agree, I just bought the waltz myself, I think its great.

We also have the Bugaboo and my son hated his stoller in the bassinett mode after the age of ~2months. I would have to hold him in one hand and push the stroller w/ the other. Once I switched to the chair mode, he loves it. So, as long as the stroller reclines for newborn comfort, go for it!

I don't believe your baby will be happy lying down as they want to see everthing that you see and they can still fall asleep sitting up just as they do in a car seat.

A newborn baby can not and should not sit but lye down. This stroller is not suitable for a child under 6 months.

I disagree with your sister. Most babies are not eager to be lying down all of the time, especially when they learn to sit by themselves. This will not cause your baby any harm. Good luck and congrats on the new baby!

I want to buy a replacement brake handle for Bugaboo Frog. Bugaboo discontinued this model and don't have parts anymore.

my suggestion , would be to find a lawn mower repair shop (that's not too busy out of season) and nicely ask the attendant to make you a new brake , believe it or not , lawn mowers use a lot of similar things that strollers do (wheels, cables, tubing ,Etc.), and chances are they can with a bit of time make you something to work from what they have lying about . as this model is as you said .discontinued and no new parts are available

Seat position not adjusting on the chassis.

It usually does this if the frme is not clicked onto the chassis correctly, push it down to click it into place. If this doesnt work might be the buttons need replacing they can be bought as a spare part and are easy to cahnge (one screw) Hope this helps

Hello, I have one of this strollers and my son does not like the footmuff I got to use in winter time. Is there a boot cover that's designed for this stroller or is there one from a different stroller that...

Babies R Us carries universal vinyl weather covers for strollers. We have one for our double stroller but I'm not certain I'm satisfied with it. It is the 'Especially for Baby' brand. Another idea is to hold a blanket in place with binder clips. You can even find cute clips that are actually made to hold beach towels in place, crocodiles, etc..., that would also do the job. Good luck to you!
