For the last couple of weeks, I noticed my vegetables and greens were freezing in the fridge side, on the shelves as well as in the bins. I set the temp up to 38 degrees yesterday. Today, I noticed that the temperature display was blinking at 38, and continued to do so all day. I checked Samsung troubleshooter, and unplugged the fridge for 10 seconds, as it said, and replugged to set the chip. It still doesn't cool, and now the display is flashing at 62 degrees, the actual inside temp, I presume. The freezer is OK, I think. Any suggestions?? I've had it for less than 2 1/2 years. Thanks!!
ALMOST DEFINATELY YOU WILL HAVE AN ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED AUGER(MOTOR)CONTROLLING THE AMOUNT OF CHILL ENTERING THE FRIDGE COMPARTMENT. IF YOU SET THE FRIDGE TO MINIMUM AND LISTEN CAREFULLY, THERE SHOULD BE A SOUND INDICATING THE AUGER IS WORKING.( OPENING AND CLOSING THE FLAP). SET TEMP. TO MAX AND LISTEN. IF NOTHING, IT COULS BE A DEFECTIVE MOTOR OR FAULTY THERMISTOR(TEMP. PROBE).

Thanks for your help. I had a service tech come by; he disassembled the inside of the fridge, and the defrost coils were frozen. He did some elec tests, thawed the coils, and reassembled it all. I need a new defrost heater (luckily, part of the sealed system, so covered by warranty), and a new temp sensor, as you indicated. The fridge works for now, but will freeze up in a few days, as I wait for the parts to arrive.
Tip for other Samsung owners: push the top two buttons on the panel simultaneously, and a sly code will appear as a single bar lit up in one of the big digital numbers in the temp display. This is the secret diagnosis device used by the techies, and whichever bar lights up indicates the trouble. Also be sure to check BBB rating before you call one of Samsung's auth service people. The first guy I called was a total nincompoop.
