Cannot open washer and remove console

I'm trying to repair my washer and cannot seem to get the console disconnected from the top of the washer. It is a Kenmore Model 110.22622100. Normally there are two screws on the left/right bottom of the console that attach to the top of the body of the washer but this unit does not have them. What should I do. THank you. Tedy

The console should come off by placing a putty knife under the front corner of the console. Push straight in, while lifting up. The console should pop off exposing two brass colored clips that hold the main body on. Remove the clips and the whole casing should come off the frame. I hope this helps you.

How to remove washer lid to replace lid lock

Remove power to the unit.
Locate the console and remove two phillips head screws. Most
models have them in the front, bottom of the console. In some of the newer models they are located in the back, bottom of the console. Some washers require you to remove two end caps on the console to access the screws.
After you remove the two screws, slide the console slightly forward and then up. The console will then hinge to the back of the washer.
With the console now hinged back, locate the lid switch harness.
Disconnect the harness and check for resistance between the 2 grey wires (outside) on the lid switch connector connected to top of washer. With the lid down the circuit should read no resistance. If the circuit is open(infinite resistance) then the switch needs to be replaced. You can also use a insulated jumper on the lid switch harness to determine if its the switch.
To replace the lid switch you will now have to remove the cabinet. Use a flat head screwdriver to remove the two clips holding the back of the washer to the outer shell of the washer.
Disconnect the lid switch harness(If not still disconnected).

You can now pull the outer shell away from the washer. Do this by
grasping the outer shell (I open the lid and grab it there.) and tilt the shell forward (toward you) and out. The shell is now removed and you can see the tub. Be careful not to bend the outside walls of the shell when removing and setting aside. This will help greatly when reinstalling the shell. Remove the 2 screws attaching switch to cabinet. Remove the screw connecting the ground on the cabinet. Use a flat blade screwdriver to push tabs on lid switch connector block to remove. Finally remove the whole harness from the 2 remaining retainer clips under the cabinet. Install new lid switch harness assembly and reassemble washer.

How do I replace the drain pipe pump on my kenmore washer model 80 # 110.27812 692? Please give me precise details if possible Thanks.

If you are replacing the entire drain line, you will need to remove the washer casing to access it. Just follow these steps:

1. Unplug washing machine.

2. Remove console. This can be accomplished in one of two ways depending on which type of console you have.

a. If the console has removable end caps, the caps lift off by prying on the top from the back of the washer. The cap will pull off towards you as you are facing the unit from the front of the washer. There will be a screw under each end cap that you will need to remove.

b. If the console does not have removable end caps, you will need to slide a putty knife under the front corner of each side and push in while lifting up. There is a retaining clip under each side that has to be released.

3. Once the console has been released it will lift up and fold back over the back of the washer in its resting position. Use care not to stress the small plastic hinges that hold it on. They can break easily.

4. Under the console will be two large brass colored clips. Take a large flat blade screwdriver and place it in the groove of the clip on the washer top. With the screwdriver firmly in the groove, push away from you towards the back of the washer. This will release the clips.

5. Disconnect the lid switch connector plug. This is the white colored plug on the washer top under the console.

6. Remove the washer casing. Open the lid of the washer. Using one hand, grip under the front rim of the washer opening. Do not grab the wash tub, just the casing. Tilt the washer case from the back first towards you, slide forward slightly, and then lift up. The entire case comes off exposing the wash tub and components.

You should be able to fully access the drain hose now.

Once your repair is complete, follow these steps to get the washer case back on the frame and secured properly:

1. With the lid of the washer open, grasp case under front rim and place it on the washer frame. While looking down through the washer lid opening, make sure the front lip of the case is placed UNDER the washer frame and rocked back onto the frame to ensure that the small cleats on the frame fit into the slotted grooves on the washer case base. If you do not get the case seated correctly it will rattle and vibrate while the washer is in operation.

2. Make sure the back of the washer fits into the washer casing on each side by leaning over the front of the washer and grasping the back panel and pull towards you. Reinsert the brass clips by placing the clips into the slot on the back of the washer first, and then forcefully push then down into the opening on top of the washer.

3. REINSTALL LID SWITCH CONNECTOR. It is easy to forget. If you do not reconnect it, the washer will not work correctly.

4. Reinstall console.

It seems like a rather lengthy process, but it is a simple repair if you follow the instructions step-by-step. Read through everything thoroughly before beginning any repairs. I hope this information helpful.

NOTE: If you are only replacing the section of hose in the rear of the washer, you do not need to disassemble the washer case. All you have to do is remove the hose clamp at the point where the hose connects in the lower right hand corner in the rear of the washer and connect your new hose.

How do take off the back panel

The back panel does not come off on a Whirlpool top loader. These washers are designed to have the entire washer casing lift off to access the interior.

In order to place the washer case back on the frame, follow these steps:

1. Re-install washer case.

I know it seems like a lot, but this is how these washers are to be serviced. If you attempt to pry the back off, it will damage the washer and may cause the case to become unseated and vibrate violently during any spin cycle.

If you have any questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this is helpful to you.

PS I'm assuming there is a reason why you are wanting to remove the back of the washer. Can you describe any symptoms of problems you may be having? I can give you advice on how to repair if needed.

I have model 110 24642300 top load. took the back

Actually the washer should have come apart by removing the outer casing while leaving the back in place on the frame. The following steps explain how to remove the casing and reinstall:

To reinstall the washer case, follow these steps:

1. With the lid of the washer open, place grasp case under front rim and place it on the washer frame.

2. Make the back of the washer fits into the washer casing on each side and reinsert the brass clips. Place the clip into the slot on the back of the washer first, and then forcefully push it into the opening on top of the washer. It will snap back into to place.

3. REINSTALL LID SWITCH CONNECTOR. It is easy to forget. If you do not reconnect it, the washer will not work correctly.

4. Reinstall console.

You may try going through these steps and make sure you have the back of the washer correctly in place on the frame prior to reinstalling the case. It may sound like a lot, but this is actually the proper (and easier) method.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

#
1

Disconnect your Kenmore Oasis washing machine from its power source. Make sure that your washer is unplugged before beginning to disassemble it.
#
2

Remove the screws that hold the control console to the top of your Oasis washer. In some Kenmore Oasis models, the two screws may be covered by plastic end caps. After removing the screws, set them aside until you are ready to replace them.
#
3

Flip the console up, back and out of the way.
4

Locate the cabinet clips on the top of your Kenmore Oasis washer. These clips are located toward the back of the washer top and would be hidden by the console if it were not currently flipped up.
#
5

Slide your screwdriver underneath the metal cabinet clips. Wiggle the screwdriver back and forth to gently pry the cabinet clips free.
#
6

Disconnect the group of colored wires that plug into the top of the washer from the control console. These wires control the lid switch on your Kenmore washing machine. To disconnect, grasp the white plastic clip and pull gently.
#
7

Remove the washing machine cabinet. Tilt the cabinet towards you, and then lift the entire cabinet up and off of its platform.

Cabinet opening

Goede, the end caps will come off, just get a good grip on them and pull hard. Under the end caps are the screws to open the consol. There is nothing in the back of the washer to remove. Then after flipping the consol there are two snap springs to remove and the whold cabinet lifts off. You have to unplug the lid switch harness. The attachment might help. Catriver..post back.
