Engine startup error
SC670
1. Engine does not respond within 30 sec after power on.
2. Engine down detected suddenly during power on and warm up.
IBCU installation incorrect
IBCU defective
Sudden communication reset
occurred between the IBCU and the Controller
You should be able to reset it by powering the copier off completely with the switch on the front, not the control panel, wait 15 -30 seconds, and power it back up again.

The temperature of the fixing film is as follows:
has exceeded 100C, but does not reach 115C within 1 sec thereafter. has exceeded 140C, but does not reach 150C within 1 sec thereafter. has exceeded 160C, but does not reach 165C within 1 sec thereafter
The fixing film unit is faulty (i.e., the main thermistor TH1 has poor contact, or the fixing heater is faulty). The main power supply PCB is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty. Caution To clear the error, execute the following in service mode: COPIER>FUNCTION>FCLEAR>ERR.
1. State Turn on the power switch, and clear E002/E003. Thereafter, turn off and then on the power switch. Does the fixing heater operate? NO: See "The fixing heater fails to operate." 2. Wiring Is the wiring from the DC controller PCB to the fixing film unit normal? NO: Correct the wiring. 3. Fixing film unit, DC controller PCB Try replacing the fixing film unit. Is the problem corrected? YES: End. NO: Replace the DC controller PCB.
E002 The main thermistor (TH1) has poor contact or an open circuit. The thermal switch has an open circuit (TP1). The fixing heater has an open circuit. The AC driver PCB is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty. The door switch is faulty.
E002 0000 The temperature of the fixing film is as follows: 1. has exceeded 100°C, but does not reach 115°C within 1 sec thereafter. 2. has exceeded 140°C, but does not reach 150°C within 1 sec thereafter. 3. has exceeded 160°C, but does not reach 165°C within 1 sec thereafter.
Main cause: The fixing film unit is faulty (i.e., the main thermistor TH1 has poor contact, or the fixing heater is faulty). The main power supply PCB is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.
Caution: To clear the error, execute the following in service mode: COPIER>FUNCTION>FCLEAR>ERR.
Action See the description for E003.
E003 Action 1.
Canon printers MP 160 AND MAYBE OTHERS A) E5, E6 or E4 - it is cartridges error - to fix press the "stop\reset" button for 5-7 sec. and then release it.
B) E27 - it is code for reset absorber (EEPROM reset or Waste ink counter reset) and follow the described below procedure:
1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button. 2) When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button. 3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection) 4) When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the function listed in the table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in orange and green, starting with orange.)note: press 4 times for waste ink counter reset.
The number of the Reset button pressing LED Function Remarks 0 time Green Power off
1 time Orange Service pattern print 2 times Green EEPROM print 3 times Orange EEPROM reset 4 times Green Waste ink counter reset
5) Turn off the printer.( it must be turn off) then turn it on again.
Only in B) case you can enter into "service mode", in A) case or if have e.g. paper jam, or another error you CAN'T enter the "service mode" Try it
Anonymous see A) case: E5, E6 or E4 - it is cartridges error - to fix press the "stop\reset" button for 5-7 sec. and then release it.
