Screen shows series of lines when switched on. Also shows a crack-like symbol but phone has never been dropped

Hi there,

This happened to me a few weeks ago, I returned the phone to shop I purchased it from and they informed me that to much pressure was applied to the phone when in my pocket and is a re-current problem with this model of phone, they will not send this mobile to LG for repair as they do not fix phones with this problem.

Your best bet is to take it to a smaller local mobile repair shop, in my area they take about £40 pound, however shop around and see if you can get it cheaper or alternativley if you have mobile phone insurance the shop you purchased it from should replace it FOC.

Needless to say I will never purchase another LG touchscreen phone again and will be looking for a new one at christmas time.

May need to take it to cell phone repair mine looks the same way. Dropped it face down. Did your screen crack at all. Shouldn't be too much to repair it they quoted me $100.00. Hope this helps.

Hi, since you have removed or disconnected the head set from your N70 and it is still showing headset connected symbol,you can try switching the phone off and on after a while or removing the battery and re inserting it after a while. If that does not work, then check the headset settings on your phone to ensure its not on a permanent show on the screen.

You don't have to drop your phone to crack / break the screen. This problem is almost certainly caused by a crack screen. This can be easily repaired by taking your phone to the local repair shop and getting the LCD replaced.

Depending on where you live and who you know you can get this done for $50 - $100 in North America.

Its all one piece on the vu. as long as the plastic lens covering the lcd is still intact. Its a fairly easy replacement Ive done a few!

your screen is not crack but your lamp is out, you need to replace the whole LCD screen.

Screen has an "LCD" leak apparently.

The LCD is not cracked, however either the ribbon cable attaching it to the mainboard or the mainboard itself is cracked or the phone has a bad processor.
If the phone is under warranty, get it replaced.
If it is not, you may be able to open it (depending on what kind of tools you have).
Check all cables and boards for damage, seat all connectors firmly, and re-assemble.
If it is a smart phone, you can get replacement parts if needed. If it is not, your parts options are limited.

whatever the issue is you cannot resolve yourself. Either there is a loose/faulty cable or LCD display on the phone, or it may have been caused by a fall of some sorts. If there is no visible damage to the phone (cracks, dents, excessive scrathes, etc) it will be covered under the Applecare warranty since it has to be less than a year old.

Bring it to the nearest Apple store, or call AppleCare at 1-800-275-2273
