Red flashing light on battery indicator on the loading dock.

I replaced the battery on the camera with a brand new one and when i place it on the docking station, the battery indicator on the docking station still flashes red. I've checked all connections and the photos will still upload but I don't know how to make the red flashing light stop.

I have this same problem, Z760, using Loading Dock 3 w/ three section charge indicator.  Will light one section as green, sometimes two, but after a few seconds to a few minutes, will start flashing red.

My Z760 does the same thing. When that happens I run the battery completely down by taking pictures until it shuts down. Then when I put it on the dock it charges properly. Don't leave your camera on the dock all the time and don't try to always keep the battery fully charged--instead it will develop memory and think it needs to be fully charged to run and will give you a low battery signal earlier than it should. Wait until you actually get a low battery signal before charging and it should help, but mine will still give me the red light sometimes. Then I run the battery out like I said before. I hope this information helps. :-)

I just had the same problem. CRC contact cleaner sprayed on the dock connection, placed camera on it, moved it around a few times and it charges fine now. Easy fix. Dirty contacts is all it was.

Folks, I have a Z760 Kodak as well, and I have been as frustrated as most of you. I do not think it's the battery, as a new battery didn't make a difference. What made the difference was taking the camera off the dock, removing the battery, and then "powering" the camera on (won't come on, of course). Then, putting the battery back in and charging it on the dockstation (Series 3) seems to calm it down. Taking the memory card out when charging seems to help, too. About 6 months ago, there were troubleshooting steps on the Kodak site that led me to this solution. I followed them, and didn't have any problems after that. Recently, though, I was using the camera a lot, and the whole issue started up again. I couldn't find the support page that I found before on the Kodak site, but remembered that it had something to do with powering the camera without the battery in (and maybe without the memory card in, as well). My camera now seems to be charging fine in the docking station (with the battery in and the memory card out). Yep, just went to 3 green bars.
It's a great camera for pictures, but the docking station issues sure are frustrating. Please email me at [email protected], and I'll be happy to help you directly.

This process didn't work for me with my Z812 is, I used to praise Kodak but now I'm waivering on this! $15 to talk to someone to "hopefully" fix your problem?! REALLY?! I'm gonna start researching and find a new camera and its NOT going to be a Kodak!!

I'm still using my Kodak Z760 camera with docking station and here's what seems to work now...I just put it on to charge it and wait for the red lights to start flashing, which is almost guaranteed. I then just lift it up 1/2 and inch and put it back down. Rinse and repeat between 5 and 30 times (don't go crazy with short intervals between repeats). Just do this while you're checking you email or other computer activities and glance over at the power bars every so often. Sometimes this works the first time for me and sometimes it takes many tries, but it does eventually work.

I ended up cleaning the contacts in both the camera (just push up on the spring-loaded platform that protects the connector) and the dock, where they connect, with a toothpick dipped in alcohol. It was strong and thin enough to reach the contacts and clean them. After doing this, it charges perfectly with the new and old batteries.

The camera won.t turn on the battery charger blinks red when trying to charge both of my battreies

I had the same problem with flashing red light on my charging dock (within 10 sec after 2nd green light came on). I did fix it. There is a rust brown securing tab that holds the battery in place. Mine must have a broken spring..... So, I put the battery into my camera, pushed securing tab over the battery and then wedged a toothpick tip to keep battery tab in place. Once back on the charger, I had no more flashing red light. The battery is charging correctly. The problem was that the battery was not held down into place correctly. I now just have to unwedge the toothpick tip to remove the battery...but not really an issue at all as I keep the battery in there all the time. Very easy fix!!!
Others suggested to reseat the plastic dock. But mine was secure. Somewhere there is not a good battery connection that is causing the red flashing light. I am thankful to figure it out. Hope this helps you.

My kodak eastyshare z760 flashes red when on the battery charger but yet, the battery never shows fully charged.

I had the same problem. I needed to take the clear plastic insert off but then I had to put a rubber band around the dock and camera (more on the left of the camera and dock) to hold it evenly on there since the camera was leaning on the right and wasn't charging for me. Now it charges as soon as I put it on there with the rubber band with no blinking red light anymore! Hope this helps!

Dell latatude D630 is docked/battery flashing 4 red 1 green

4 orange and 1 green can mean a battery malfunction, or it could be an indication that the battery is about to reach the end of its life cycle. When a battery is built, it has a planned expectancy. a date code is stamped in the electronics of the battery pack. as that date code is reached, the indicator lights on the computer let you know the battery (even if its working fine) is considered obsolete and needs to be replaced soon.

Camera won't charge

Hi!

It's a problem with the battery. It already reached it's life cycle. I had the same problem with my 15 month old casio camera a year ago - flashing red light on docking station. I even tried borrowing a docking station/charger to see if something else is wrong with it.

The only solution for this is to have the battery replace.

I hope that helps.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Charging Camera

I would test the docking station first. Do you have a way of charging the camera without using the docking station?

Thought I'd ask because some can and some can't.

Red flashing light, constantly.

this is the fix.

"Hi,I just found a soultion on another website and it appears to have worked for me.Apparently the battery loses it memory when fully discharged,to fix this take a 9v battery and place the terminals + to + and - to - with the camera battery for 30 seconds or so then put the battery back in the camera and charge as normal.I just did this and it seems to be charging and the red light is solid.hope this helps."

New Camera Does Not Charge

A red flashing light does NOT mean it charging. THat means you have a defective battery. Call tech support and tell them that you have a defective battery and they may be able to get a replacement for you.
