this isn't my area of expertise but if you really wish to play resident evil, go on doperoms.com and go to emulators, choose a psx emulator and then download it then you can download any ps1 roms like resident evil and play them for free on your computer. it doesn't take a powerful computer, these games will run on an iphone 3g, leave a good rating if this helps
The old brick ps2 had allot of problems with them, from not reading game disks anymore after a while, your problem and other things, i don't know exactly what the problem is but lens cleaners wont work at all, what i done years ago was ring up sony and they replaced my ps2 with a new refurbished one for free. So i would recommend doing so
Hope i have helped
A couple things come to mind. If the lens is dirty, then there will certainly be issues with load times, or load failure. Check your game discs for scratches and scuffs. If a disc has a scratch or too many scuffs on it, it will make it difficult for the laser to read. Clean your discs, and clean your ps2 lens with a basic ps2 laser cleaning kit. You should be able to find them anywhere. I don't recommend cleaning the lens without a kit if you are not familiar with the internals of a PS2 or cleaning electronic components. If after cleaning your disc and lens it still gives you issues, there is an angle adjustment gear in the ps2, but we'll cross that bridge only if the cleaning doesn't work.
