How do you reset the subwoofer on the av-d57...I know you can reset the woofer using another tecnique but i can't rememeber. I think it was something to turn off stereo and unplug woofer but i can remember it. What am i doing wrong? I did the whole hold the enter reset and nothing still. But i hear a thud when it resets but nothing is coming out.
You need the remote control to turn the subwoofer on and off. There are no controls on the subwoofer. This is the most ridiculous design ever. Anyway, on the RC-AAR02 remote, press the "Manual Select" in the upper right corner. You'll see "SUBWOOFER OFF" on the display. Then, use the tuner up/down ON THE RECEIVER (not the remote) to turn the sub on. Confounded? Yes.

Most of the time there is a foldback of the left and right audio inputs of the subwoofer in that they use and sum the L and R audio and then filter the high end off. That means that the audio outs from your source be it the TV audio outs or a AV receiver that they can be Y corded to the sub woofer for that purpose.
hi, if u want to hook up the sub with ur av receiver the connect the sub woofer output of ur AVR to any one (left or right) input of ur sub woofer. then connect its power . set the frequency range between 90 and 120Hz. set the volume of sub woofer to 40% of its total. also check the av receives speaker setting. goto speaker setup and make ON the sub woofer out.
if want to connect the sub to a stereo amp without sub out. then connect the amps speaker line to the speaker input of sub woofer and connect the speaker out of sub to left and right speaker ( make sure to connect the red to red and black to black). set the volume and frequency as above ok
my son had blown the speakers up that came with this unit(d57) and he replaced the spkrs w/sonys and the stereo dont sound the same, cannot get balancing right ,,where can i get the same spkrs that came w/this unit
There could be a number of reasons causing this malfunction, try replacing the subwoofer's cord, it might be damaged, you can also try reseting the system to the factory settings according to the following instructions:
1. Press the power button to turn off the power
2. Press the power button while pressing the ENTER button. (note: this will reset all memory)
