My Tv is fairly old, I'd say around 10-12 years old. There was a recent snow storm and my cable and internet went out. When the cable and internet came back on.... my TV went out and now the timer light keeps blinking on and off. The TV hasn't come since earlier in the day. PLEASE HELP!
Thanks, Kay.

Re: my tv wont come on
I have worked on many JVCs with similiar problems. I found in most cases the Horizontal Output Transistor was burned out or the Flyback trasformer was bad ( or both ). Also a likley problem is cold solder joints in the power supply section ( start up trasformer is a good place to start ) and also check the resistors connected to the start up circuit. Anyway, the problem seems to normally be in the horizontal section or cold solder joints in the power supply. Good Luck

Mitsubishi had a bad problem with capacitors going bad in there system control modules. Unless you like big CHINESE PUZZLES, best leave this one to a pro.
This could be a number of things, but first step might be: check that the power button on the TV is not stuck on, there could be a faulty push button or the button is stuck.
Your problem may be solved by re-initializing the set. With the tv on use the remote and push MENU,2,1,7,0. A display will come up. Use the up down arrows on the remote to select INITIAL and press the enter key on the remote. That should do it.
