Good day Gents i have a mfj299 microphone that I am try to wire to my IC775 ICOM 8pin plug the color code on the mice red,gray,black yellow orange green brown. does any one know where or what thes colors are identify ,like (white is audio ,red ptt? &etc thank u dutch email [email protected]

They are NOT for the speaker. Speaker wire is black "zip cord" with plastic connector coming off of control head connector. The Green and Orange are Ignition sense wires. How they are wired determines the power state of the radio, i.e. if to BATT radio will be on unless shut off, if to IGN radio will power up when ignition turned on.

with the bose sound system you have to bypass the audio system through the factory amp. the factory is located behind the right side of the glove box.

glad you posted what colors you do have , cause 2 resources didn't match ,actually 3 , i did find a match to your colors was a 97 year model premium radio, so we have a match .....

black/ light green = ground
dark green = left front spkr +
purple = right front spkr +
blue/white = right rear spkr -
brown/blue = left rear spkr -
brown/yellow = left rear spkr +
blue/orange = right rear spkr +
black/yellow = park lamps
brown/red = left front spkr -
orange = dimmer signal
pink = fused battery +
green/red = radio choke relay
red/white = fused ignition
blue/red = right front spkr -

good am, if no audio, try to check the microphone if its ok? , if not, just change, if its ok, try the PTT maybe the switch is busted or need cleaning, most cases is the need to clean due to dust and moisture. just spray contact cleaning fluid. - DU7UV

SOURCE: Wiring on a RCA RJ-45 wall jack

the RJ45 wallplate is not meant for ethernet. It's an 8P8C connector for a phone. Will it work as a network jack? Maybe. I wouldn't use it, but if you really want to try, wire it thusly:

1 Blue --- Orange/White
2 Orange --- Orange
3 Black --- Green/White
4 Red --- Blue
5 Green --- Blue/White
6 Yellow --- Green
7 Brown --- Brown/White
8 White --- Brown

I'd still recommend a CAT5 wallplate with a CAT5 jack.

Heil icm plug wiring diagram


The Heil "ICM" microphone is designed to be used with certain Icom brand ham radios. These have a 8-pin round plug. Describing the pinout to you will depend upon your perspective, whether you are looking at it from the microphone plug itself, or the microphone socket on the front of the radio. Therefore, from the perspective of looking at the mic plug on the end of the mic cable, note that there is a notch or dimple in the plug that also lines up with the screw. Going clockwise from the notch, the pins are numbered 1 thru 7. Pin #8 is the center pin.
Pin 1 = mic input
Pin 5 = Push-to-talk (PTT)
Pin 6 = PTT ground
Pin 7= Mic ground

From the standpoint of an Icom transceiver, the remainder of the mic connector pins are as follows:
pin 2 = +8 volts DC (output from the radio)
pin 3 = frequency control up/down
pin 4 = squelch switch
pin 8 = audio output (level varies w/vol control)

I bought a new logic unit (front face) of Icom F121 and it needs to be restored. How do you restore a logic unit for the Icom F121?


1- You have to to "Reserve" mode.2- Change Set Mode Access: Inhibit to Enable3- Common>>Secutity Change Set Mode Access : Inhibit to Enable4- Enter RX TX frequency and write to the radio.

Can the Microphone be replaced on a ICOM M302 Radio


The MIC is available with the cord from Icom or me (847-746-0100) It is not easy for the novice, it must be routed through the front panel and plugged in to the circuit board inside. Not impossible to do, just tedious. Also, my wild guess is about $50 to buy the mic, so, not worth it if you pay labor!
