Its possible that the drain pan behind the back freezer wall is clogged or coverd with ice, sounds like when unit goes into defrost melt water leaks under sides of drain pan and into fridge. unplug and remove back freezer wall if drain is covered with ice defrost the ice, can be prevented by loosely coiling a piece of solid copper wire around element and into drain slightly radiant heat during defrost should keep drain fromicing over. if drain is just clogged wth debris clean drain and you should be good to go, hope this helps you.

Hello Rick,

That water is from the melting frost of the automatic defrost cycle. Their is drain in the freezer behind the back wall under the evaperator coil that is blocked, so instead of defrost water draining it's pooling in the freezer or in some case espically on models with the freezer on the top,the water is leaking from the freezer vents into the fresh food compartment.
The way to clear the drain is remove back plate and remove all ice build up and GENTLY make a small hole in drain through then totally flush w/warm water.
The exact location of drain is under the coil behind back freezer plate in the center

Good luck

I hope this helps

MY ROPER FRIGE IS LEAKING WATER FROM THE FREEZER TO THE TOP SHELF IN THE FRIGE

the drain tube from the freezer to the lower compressor area is plugged with ice or debris, and when it defrosts the water in the drip pan behind the evaporator back cover inside the freezer thaws and cant drain down and overflows down thru the damper vent door to the refrigerator, remove the rear panel inside the freezer shut off unit and let thaw, then take a wire and work it down this drain hole till water comes out at the bottom of this drain tube located in the rear

Cannot find the drain hole in freezer compartment

Defrost the frige by unplugging it and let itsit for 6 hours open. remove the icemaker and rear panel inside freezer. drain is in the middle below coils. Look on the back of frige for the drain hose to help you locate the drain. It is hard to spot covered with ice but it is a hole about the size if a dime. Pour hot water thru the drain. It should drain down the tube to the bottom drain pan...

It sounds like the line you found is for draining the water from the defrost cycle. It should drain the water from melting the ice into the pan at the bottom so it will evaporate. Sounds like its being clogged is the cause of the water in your fridge.

Now I think I have other things wrong with mine, after leakage problem the refrigeration compartment wont cool anymore but the freezer part remains working as usual.Ive nailed this down to one of the following not working... Thermostat / timer / defrost heater. So one or more of these needs replacing.Im just trying to look for a manual which shows the nuts and bolts or the refrigerator (not the "How to use" type manual which I have).
