Got Macam and my mac is ok with that but still Skype can't find my quickcam

When I try my QuickCam Pro 4.9 mm on Skype everytime it tells me that I do not have a webcam on the computer, though it works normally with some other programs and applications, I thought because of Windows Vista but it seems has no relation to Vista.
The webcam has a microphone at the same time and the mic works and being recognized by Skype but the webcam does not.

Welcome to Fixya. This is a known issue with the latest version of Skype. The latest version of Skype won't run on Mac pc so you need to download the older version of skype. Please uninstall the Skype program on on you Mac and download the older version on the link below.

You cannot open the application Skype because it is not supported on this architecture is an error caused by Skype and not by the webcam.

Webcam driver

I had the same problem, but on a iMac G4, and got it to work with a macam driver. I had lost the installation disk to my Logitech QuickCam Chat, so it wasn't recognizing the camera. The Logitech website only offers driver downloads for PC.

Go here: http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/downloads.html
and download the "current version" of the driver.
Then install it on your machine, making sure to drag the "macam component" to the suggested Library> Quicktime folder. This will help it work with programs like Skype. If you only install the "macam," it will show you a camera image directly, but won't do anything else.
