Unable to print properly keeps printing on one line

When printing the paper pulls into the printer and then stops I looked at it while testing the paper feed button. The rollers on the top of the feeder pull it in and the rollers at the end are moving. But the rollers right in the center of the printer don't move at all and I can see where the paper stopped. So it never gets touched with ink. Can this be fixed or is it time for a new one?

Sounds like there is something jammed in the paper feeder, or maby its the paper feeder itself. Check to see if the path the paper follows through the feeder is completely clear. Sometimes paper is left in the feeder from previous paper jams.

When I put the paper in the feed, it just feeds without printing anything. I am unable to stop the printer, what can I do?

I have had part of this problem in the past. My printer kept printing and would not stop. In the end, I pulled the plug. Once up and running again, it was fine.
I expect you've checked ink levels. If they are ok, try taking out the ink cartridge and putting it back in, the start up again. The printer should then print a test page, and stop afterwards.
This is very basic, I'm not techie. If it continues to continually send out paper without printing, you probably need an expert. Good luck, hope it sorts itself out.

Why am I getting double or treble spacing on the printed lines

It could be that the disk located to the left side of the paper feed (when looking inside from front) is soiled with ink.

The disk has tiny lines on it that are read by a sensor like steps so the printer counts the "steps" to work out how far the paper has progressed through the feed. If this is dirty with ink, grease or similar, it will not be read properly and result in the paper feeding further than it should.

This assumes that the issue is printer related however. It could be that your source document/editor is causing the problem by not displaying what you want to print. You can identify if this is the case by printing from some other application like a web browser or similar to see if the spacing still takes place. If it does the printer is the fault... if it doesn't it's your software.

Hope that helps.

Leaving black streaks down paper? Ink cartridge

If this started after cartridge was replaced, then it is probably defective.

Take the cartridge out and take a look at the print head. Clean the print head.
Put the cartridge back in
Try and feed paper (not printing anything on it, if you can not get it to just feed paper, print a blank page) and see if it still has lines. If so, you are probably going to have to clean ink from inside the paper feed area. If not, try using it for a while and if it starts again, get a replacement cartridge. You might want to save some of the bad prints to show the clerk and try to get the new cartridge under warranty.

Why the epson stylus C86 dont print nothing?it makes noise like its print but on the paper nothing

***hi there,il be willing to help you on that. ****
the nozzles of the printer might be clogged by dried inks thats why when your printing, its feeding the paper, as if its printing but no inks on the paper. print a nozzle check to see which part or color have clogs, if there are gaps or breaks, do head cleaning untill no more gaps then try printing.
Running a Printer Check
You can run a printer check to determine whether a problem comes from the printer itself or some other source.
1. Make sure both the printer and computer are turned off. Then disconnect the interface cable from the printer.
2. Make sure letter-size plain paper is loaded in the printer.
3. Hold down the paper button, then press and release the power button. Continue holding down the paper button until the green power light starts to flash, then release it.
If your printouts are unexpectedly light, or dots or lines are missing, you may need to clean the print head. This unclogs the nozzles so they can deliver ink properly. Print head cleaning uses ink, so clean it only if quality declines.
You can also clean the print head by holding down the ink button on the printer for three seconds. (This only works when the red ink light is off.)
Caution: When you don’t turn on your printer for a long time, print quality can decline, so turn it on and print a few pages at least once a month to maintain good print quality.
***if my troubleshooting steps are helpful, pls vote for me, i will appreciate it, so that I can be a part of fixya, thanks, Godbless****

My pixma ip8500 is printing with some colour missing, all cartridges have ink in them?

Hi there,

When Printing Becomes Faint or Colors are Incorrect.
When printing becomes faint or colors are incorrect even if the ink remains in the ink tanks, the print head nozzles are probably clogged. Print the nozzle check pattern to confirm the condition of the nozzles and then perform the Print Head Cleaning.
Note : Before performing maintenace

*Open the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) and make sure that all lamps for the ink tanks are lit red.
-If any one of the lamps is flashing slowly, the associated ink tank is running low. You can continue printing for a while, but we recommend you to have replacement ink tank available.
-If any one of the lamps is flashing fast, the associated ink tank is emty. Replace the ink tank.
If an ink tank is flashing fast even though ink remains in that ink tank, it is inserted into the wrong position. Make sure that the ink tank of the correct coloris inserted in each position matching the label.
-If the ink lamp is not lit, the tank is not set properly. Press the <PUSH> mark on the ink tank until the tank clicks into place. Make sure that all the packaging material is peeled off the ink tank.

*Increase the print quality setting in the printer settings.

Step 1 : Printing the Nozzle Check Printer.
1) Make sure that the machine is turned on, open the Front Feed and extend the Output Paper support.
2)Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder or the Front Feeder.
Set the Paper Thickness Lever to the left.
3) Press the Paper Feed Switch to select the paper source where you have loaded paper.
4)Print the nozzle check pattern.
a) Press the Menu button.
b) Use the right and left arrow buttons to select the Maintenance/settings, then press the OK button.
The maintenance /setting screen is displayed.
3) Use the right and left arrow buttons to select Maintenance, then press the OK button.
The Maintenance screen is displayed.
4) Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select the Nozzle check and then press the OK button.
The pattern confirmation screen is displayed.
5) Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select Yes and the press the OK button.
The nozzle check print is printed, and the pattern confirmation screens are displayed alternately.

Examine the pattern and take the appropriate action.

Step 2: Print Head Cleaning
Clean the Print Head if lines are missing or if white streaks appear in the printed nozzle check pattern. Cleaning unclogs the nozzles and restores the print head condition. Note that cleaning the Print Head causes used inl to be absorbed in the ink absorber. Cleaning the Print Head consumes ink, so perform Print Head Cleaning only when necessary.
1) Make sure that the machine is on, open the Fron Feeder, and extend the Output Paper Support.
2) Load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder or the Front Feeder/
Set the Paper Thickness Lever to the left.
3) Press the Paper Feed Switch to select the paper source where you have loaded paper.
4) Start Print Head Cleaning.
a) Press the Menu button.
b) Use the right and left arrow button to select Maintenance/settings, then press the OK button.
The maintenance /setting screen is displayed.
c) Use the right and left arrow buttons to select Maintenance, then press the OK button.
The Maintenance screen is displayed.
d) Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select Cleaning and then press the OK button.
The confirmation screen is displayed.
e) Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select Yes and the press the OK button.
Print Head Cleaning starts.
Do not perform any other operations until Print Head cleaning finishes. This takes about 50 seconds.
The pattern print confirmation screen is displayed.
f) Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select Yes and the press the OK button.
The nozzle check print is printed, and the pattern confirmation screens are displayed alternately.
Examine the pattern and take the appropriate action.
Note : If the problem is not resolved after performing steps 4 and 5 twice, try Print Head Deep Cleaning.

Print Head Deep Cleaning.
If print quality does not improve by standard Print head Cleaning, try the Print Head Deep Cleaning, which is more powerful process. Note that cleaning the Print Head causes used ink to be absorbed in the ink absorber. Print Head deep Cleaning consumer more ink than the standard Print Head Cleaning, so perform this procedure only when neccessary.
The Maintenance screen is displayed.
d) Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select Deep Cleaning and then press the OK button.
The confirmation screen is displayed.
e) Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select Yes and the press the OK button.
Print Head Deep Cleaning starts.
Do not perform any other operations until Print Head Deep cleaning finishes. This takes about 100 seconds.

5) Check the condition of the Print Head.
a) Print the nozzle check pattern to check the print head condition.
If a particular color is not printed properly, replace the ink tank of that color.
b) If the print head nozzles are still not cleaned, turn off the machine and perform another Print Head Deep Cleaning after 24 hours.
c) If this does not solve the problem, the Print Head may be damaged. Contact your Canon service representative.

Hope this helps.

When I print blue horizontal lines appear or being printed as wel

Do the cartridges ride on the printing carriage, or do they plug in somewhere else in the machine and have hoses that run the ink to the print head? If they ride on the printing carriage and the cartridge is new, there could be a short in the printer and it needs repair. Check if there's ink smeared on the print head or part of the printer. Generously clean the print heads with lots of paper towels and rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't work, to see if it's an issue with computer, print a test page from the printer, but don't send the print job from the computer. You need a print job generated from inside the printer itself. Not every printer can do this, but try pressing paper feed, holding down paper feed and power, or holding down cancel and power. If the blue lines disappear then but they didn't when you cleaned the heads, it's a software issue.

Black ink is faint

First I would suggest performing any head alignment functions with your printer's menu to be sure you have the stepper motor feed adjusted properly. Use the paper you are currently printing on for this procedure so that the thickness of that paper is factored in.
If you stil see the banding after doing this, you can use the Advanced Media Control button under Printer Settings in ColorBurst to fine-tune the paper feed adjustment. Print out the "Media Advance.tif" target (located in the ColorBurst/images & Targets folder) to use as a guide. For white bands, you'll need to enter a negative number (to shorten the paper feed).
