Before you invest too much time, look and see if the touch pad is still available. Sharp is pretty quick to discontinue parts right after about 5 years. There is a place called encompass parts. They are a distributer for Sharp, you micght check with them.
The Sharp Microwave/Convection oven I have says to touch the Custom Help button, the number "1", then touch the Start Button. To turn off the child lock, press the Stop button.
Or just unplug it, wait 1 minute, and plug in.
After snubbing the darned thing overnight, plug it back it to see if it has recovered.
These things do have primitive computers and we all know how reliable those things are-
It may just have 'crashed,' just like seemingly all others.
