SOURCE: How to remove the washer cycle selection/start-stop knob on a Whilpool Heavy Duty Thin Twin stacked washer dryer

I believe the selector knob on a Whirpool just has to be turned counter-clockwise with the selector pushed in. It will spin off the shaft and then the outer indicator dial will pull off. The shaft also has a keyed slot that will only allow the dial to be removed and installed one way, so there should be no question as to how it goes back on.

Was there a reason as to why you are removing the washer selector knob? If this is a simple matter of replacing a broken water temperature selector, you shouldn't have to remove any of the control knobs to gain access to the selector. The entire front panel comes off by removing the screws holding it in place. That way you can access the broken selector from behind the front panel much easier. Just remove the panel right above the washer top (under the dryer) and it should expose the front panel mounting screws. Remove these screws and the front panel comes off. Just make sure the unit is unplugged before you begin. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need further assistance.

SOURCE: whirlpool washer stops during cycle

Do a visual inspection on the electronic module. To do you need to removed it. Follow the manual for this. I got the manual from, it's pretty big, about 44MB: https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/07e2c9ebdcf04a3085256f38004f9b84/$FILE/WPWASHER1.pdf

I had the same kind of issue on mine, no spinning and occasionally it did not want to start. I decided to remove "electronic control module" and do quick visual inspection on the board.
I find out that the board was full of little (microscopic) lead (plumb). I cleaned it with a toothbrush and ALCOHOL on both side, re-installed it and since then the machine worked find... Finally after a year I have a working machine.
I think you should test this solution before spending $400 on a new "electronic control module".
Let others know if it work on your side too.

Could be the idler pulley, or the dryer seals.

did you get a key for the coin box?
if so. just keep coins handy run them through the coin-op.

otherwise, you may need to employ an electrician to bypass it

How can I adjust the run time per $1 on my maytag coin operated dryer. I would like it to run about 15 minutes per $1. Now is runs about 45 minutes on one $1.

Download this manual:

http://www.fowlercompanies.com/servicemanuals%5CMDG16SERVICE.PDF

The mechanism adjustments start on page 20. Note that the maximum number of slider cycles is 3. If you have a PD coin drop model the Max you can get is $0.75 per load I would have to assume that a different coin op mechanism may have to be used or one that will accept 2 coins per cycle for 2 cycles. On non PD models you can adjust the slots for as many as 4 coins per glide / slider cycle.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Coin-op dryer: changing the length of the cycle

that is correct, there a re multiple "cams"/discs that will increase/decrease times, they should be inside the lock box atop the machine, they come with the unit when delivered and that s the likely storage spot for them

I just bought a house that included in the sale a Maytag Coin-op Washer and Dryer. The coin box on each contains a key. How do I disable the need for putting coins in the washer and dryer so that I can...

  1. purchase a coin insert and blank the slot that coins fit in, then the slide will slid in without coins, just acting like a button, if you examine the slide you wil notice that there are plastic inserts in unused coin slots, any maytag commercial dealer has them.
  2. replace coin slide with 'free operation' converter, which is just a button plate that pushes the striker on the timer switch
  3. take top cover off and just push the striker on the timer, (this is NOT) a recommended option, 220v is enough to spoil you whole day)

I have a coin op dryer modle cem2760kq0 i put im a new timer in but it dose not stop runing?

mechanical coin op timers come without the shut off cam installed
there are slots around the edge corresponding to different times, that take a pin cam. the pin cam is in the box for the installer to insert to the owners specification, between 24 and 60 minutes in 6 minute intervals usually, hope you retained the packaging, or the old timer which should have its cam pin still in it

electronic coin op timers have to be programmed
