I have a 3 year old whirlpool duet. about halfway through the cycle the washer locks up and shows an f11 code. when we cut off power to the washer for a couple of minutes then turn it on the drain spin cycle it works. this is really aggrevating. these are expensive machines and i expected better. can anyone help.
The shaking and vibration of the washer makes sense. I took off the top cover and just pushed on the circuit board connections and the washer instantly worked. Some of the connections did feel loose and by simply making sure they were connected tightly worked. Save yourself a service call and try this first. The circuit board is easy to get to. Just remove the three screws from the back and the top cover comes right off. This is for both the f11 and f dl fault codes.

We've had this problem for about a yr when i finally firgured out how to correct it. the problem is that the circuit board is attached to the washer, when it starts to shake it causes the connections to loosen and theats the fault code you get. How I fixed this was to suspend the circuit from a bungie strap this will allow the washer to shake all it wants and the circuit board is stable, connections stay tight andwasher works fine, after 6 months not one error code at all

I experimented and found that if you set the washer to a different spin speed setting, the washer will complete its cycle. No errors! Cool!
