Question about iRiver H10 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Windows media player interups firmware

I am trying to run the iriver firmware programme for this player. The firmware software indicates that I should re-boot the iriver player, connect it to the computer and switc it on. At this point the firmware programme should recognise the player. What actually happens is that Windows Media Player (on a Vista Package)kicks in and the player is automatically registered to that programme which seems to stop it being recognised by the firmware software. Please post any solutions in plain english as I am not a computer expert. Many thanks.

I bought a used iriver T10 mp3 player and cannot find the right software to install it on my computer. Where can I find this? I have XP

Hello,

The iRiver T10 player is being sold with either MTP or MSC firmware,
depending on the country it originally comes from.
For MTP firmware, you'll need software Windows Media Player 10 or 11:
this software is installed when running XP SP2 or higher.
When not connecting with WMP you'll probably have the MSC version:
iRiver Plus3 software is needed for connecting this player (see below***).

Have a look in the player's System Info for knowing what firmware version is in the device: see the manual on page 55, page 29 in the pdf file. When not having the manual, go for a download to the Tech Support site:
http://www.iriverinc.com/lounge/loungeList.asp
In the bar [select a product], choose T10 from the list and click GO on the right, to get a view of all support for the T10.

Next select in the bar [select a category] Software&Driver and click GO
on the right. Updater for MTP devices and T series MSC drivers will show up: select the matching software and driver according to the previous check of firmware version.

When needing iRiver Plus3, click Plus3 in the page top of the support page or select next link:

Where can I get the driver and music manager for my IFP-799 ?

Hello,
iRiver IFP-799 is a IFP-700 series player.

Making transfers to the device can be done in either UMS or Manager mode.
UMS firmware matches with seeing the player as a removable disk in Windows Explorer and is also used for updating firmware, using iRiver PLUS software.
Manager firmware matches with iRiver Music Manager software.

When needing the Music Manager go to next site and enter the word
manager in the second column next to GO:
http://www.iriver.com/flash/index.asp?code=0302
iriver music manager ( Ver. 3.21 ) shows up: click the item and read
the instructions for download and installation.

How to update the player's firmware
in MSC mode:
http://www.iriver.com/flash/popup/flash_pop.asp?board=faq&code=47
in Manager mode:
http://www.iriver.com/flash/popup/flash_pop.asp?board=faq&code=252

IRIVER WONT WORK AAAAHHH HELP!!!!!? my iriver wont work when i try to turn it on it comes up and says system files missing to restore the system files, connect to iriver plus wat dose that mean i have...

Hello,

When system files are missing on the player, you will need to reinstall the FIRMWARE.

When looking online for the connection type for the H10 / H10JR, I can see 2 CONNECTION TYPES for the H10 / H10JR:
1. MTP, when using Windows Media Player 11 ( WMP11 ), for the H10.
2. iRiver Plus, when using iRiver PLUS, for the H10JR.

The connection type determines what software on the computer will be used for transferring media.
Each software on the computer needs corresponding firmware on the player to be installed.
When the player itself comes up with the information to connect to iRiver PLUS, this is the correct software for this device probably. Then the device is a H10JR.

When not having the program iRiver PLUS, go to the iRiver support site, for the download:
http://www.iriver.com/flash/index.asp?code=0302
In the left column click Plus3 and go for the download.
Run iriver plus 3 and then select [Tools > Portable Device > Firmware Upgrade] from the menu.

In case you have the other model player, the H10, let me know if you need assistance for its recovery.

Downloading videos onto the iriver E100

Software / Media Transfer The E100 comes packaged with a disc containing iriver plus 3 media player, firmware updater, video converter, and Windows Media Player 11. If you have owned an iriver player, you are familiar with this software with the included iriver media player. This is a standard media player much like any other but has a few features catering to the iriver family of players, such as a firmware updater, ebook txt manager, and video converter. This media player is a bit different from Windows Media Player but still is straightforward and easy to use. If you don’t care for iriver’s media player you can always use any other MTP based media player to manage playlists and load your E100 since also included on the disc is a video converter and firmware updating utility.
If you don’t like to use media players to transfer the E100 will allow you to select either MTP or MSC transfer mode. This means it is drag and drop and also compatible with any OS. Drag and drop will work fine in MTP mode as well, but only if you are using Windows XP SP2 or Vista.

and the difference between e10 / e100 your guess is just as good as mine

You would have to use irivers manager software, or change the firmware so Windows can see it.

Tansferring Songs

Your problem sounds different from the one I had, but you might try the solution that worked for my problem: Go to a computer that has Windows Media Player Version 10 (not version 11), use iRiver's firmware update tool to install firmware version 1.77. Then, for me at least, my T10 worked on Windows Media Player Version 11 computers.

Iriver T10

Somehow the driver went missing. Click on "My Computer" and then click "view system information," then "hardware," then "device manager," then click on iRiver (it'll be there even without the driver) and then it will give you a yes/no option to look for driver software. Obviously, click "yes" but notice that you are also cued to put in a CD "if you have one." I still had the CD. It will search both the CD and online for a driver, but the computer found the driver software on the CD. Make sure you only put the CD in when cued to do so. If you don't have the CD, then contact iRiver about getting a driver download or having them send you a copy of the CD.
