Converting from natural gas to propane

Can you help as to where the propane conversion orifices go ??? I am going from Natural Gas to Propane and I have the parts, but no instructions.

How do you get to the orifices and shutters? Does the top have to be removed? Is there an orifice for the oven?

Unit was purchased as floor model for NG site. Flame very low after installation by service techs. Two more service calls later and problem not solved. Found from sales person oven was connected to LP in show room. Manual discusses adjusting regulator, orifices and shutters. Regulator was replaced and is properly adjusted to NG. Manual does not show location of orifices or how to get to them. So does top need to come off?

Where do all orifices go on anything gas? Right there where the burner meets gas valve. The air shutter sits right in front of the orifice for proper air to gas ratio right.Go out and look at yer gas grill. Where the burners meet the gas valve ye shall find the orifice.

Each surface burner gets a new LP orifice.
All LP orifices have a smaller hole than the NAT. orifice.
However, due to the burner flame cap the larger hole goes with the larger cap.
Unscrew the old, screw in the new.
Usually the oven safety valves due not require a change, but do require to be tightened down.
The regulator has to be converted also.

I've just converted my stove from natural gas to propane and the oven and broiler flame are both to high, how can I lower them?

When converting from natural gas to propane you have to switch the regulator to propane. then on most modern stoves you have to turn the orifice hoods down to adjust for the higher pressure of propane. there are some stoves that you have to purchase a propane conversion kit with different orifices for the burners and oven burners.

Instuctions on how to change a pitco fryer from nat gas to propane

Hi there!
You need to order a gas valve conversion kit (from nat to propane), propane pilot orifice and propane burner orifice,
Gas valve conversion kit consists of a replacement spring thicker than of natural gas valve spring, gas valve cap and a sticker.
Pilot orifice for propane has smaller bore than of natural.
Burner orifice for propane has also smaller bore than of natural burner orifice (one for each burner).
You will be able to find these parts on the list of Pitco Distributor when you visit http://www.pitco.com
Regards.

I like to know how to change from natural gas to propipe

You must buy first the appropriate conversion kit for your fryer, you can check and order only with the authorized parts dealer. Conversion kit consists of burner and pilot orifice and gas valve spring and stickers (propane) and installation manual. Propane orifice has smaller bore than natural and gas valve spring is for propane is thicker than natural gas valve spring.

Gas stove need to switch to propane

Hi,

Hotpoint supplies the orifices and instructions with each range for converting. It is just that it is hidden, they attach it to the gas regulator. The regulator is near the bottom back typically. Here is a cut out from your use and care manual.

CONVERTING TO LP GAS (or converting
back to natural gas from LP)
This range leaves the factory set for use with natural
gas. If you want to convert to LP gas, the conversion
must be performed by a qualified LP gas installer.
The conversion instructions and LP orifices can be found
attached to the range next to the pressure regulator.
Keep these instructions and the orifices in case you want
to convert back to natural gas.

Propane to nat. gas dryer

Good day,
Yes. Two reasons. The orifice that the gas comes out is a different size, and the regulator that determines gas pressure is disabled when using Propane, since propane has the regulator on the tank.

See here.

If you are not 100% sure what your doing, call a qualified company to perform the conversion. Isn't worth the gamble.
Propane is, unlike natural gas, heavier than air. It can pool in a low spot then ............

Converting Thermos Stainless Grill to natural gas

You have to install a conversion kit for it to work the way you want. The reason is because the orifice in either the valves or the main "jet" that feeds the burner tube has to be changed. Natural gas is really not as efficient as lp gas (propane) because it takes more natural gas to create the same btu output as propane.

In short, your grill will not work if you do not do the conversion. I am including a link that lists the conversion kit for your grill, you can order it there and you can download the assembly manual as well.
