Konica Minolta magicolor 2500 Printer Logo

Question about Konica Minolta magicolor 2500 Printer

1 Answer

Multiple errors with 2 of these printers

I have 2 of these. One is a month old and keeps getting jammed paper in the transfer rollers at the bottom. The other one is brand new & as soon as I installed it, I got an error message to call technical support. I haven't even been able to get past this to print anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi there, thanks for your reply. I need this printer as I print on t-shirt transfer paper & this is the only printer that it works with. Apart from the Konica that is a bit better in the range the 2450 I think - but a lot more expensive. What is this printer like?

Hi ntygrl, Other than suggest you triple check if you have remove all the packing/locking tape around/inside the new printer, am afraid not much. This particular model before discontinued was prone to paper jamming and other mechanical issue (you probably heard it on the old one clacking and whirring noise). Sorry but that's about it. Maybe you can try their customer support for repair/replacement of the new one. May I suggest a replacement (better with a newer model) even if you have to add a few more. Good luck and kind regards.

    Hello again ntygrl,
Your reply "print on t-shirt transfer paper & this is the only printer that it works with" just gave me additional information. I believe your basic requirement is a reasonably cost color laser printer that can handle t-shirt transfer paper. My current location prevents me giving you specific brands/models of such printers (am in the Philippines) but you can try Epson, Brother, Canon, Samsung or Kyocera/Mita. You have to specify your printing requirement. Further, you must specify a printer that uses a fuser oil unit as it is an essential printing step for transfer papers. Pls, pls do not try an HP Color Laser printer. Just to give you an idea, am using a very very old Epson Acculaser C2000 for transfer paper printing and other than expensive toners, no big problems.
Pls post again, also I will try to find suitable replacement if you can give me an idea of your general location.
    Keeping my fingers crossed. Cheers.

SOURCE: Paper jam at transfer roller with no paper jammed

Had the same problem after cleaning the rollers also. Technical help was rubish. In the end I found some clues n fixed it. There is a flag between the rollers n if it gets stuck and or in my case the spring behind it came off, then the sensor thinks there is a constant paper jam. Undo one screw and get inside n check the spring n flag. I done this. placed sping etc back in place, put it all back together n bingo. Be carefull not to drop the screw inside and make sure the cog is properly engaged or you will get a funny noise. I can provide pics etc if needed.

HP4+ print quality was perfect, but printer was jamming, so I replaced all the roller parts in the Maintenance Kit, which corrected all jamming! All the paper rollers and the transfer roller is now...

Run the 1/2 test.
Load paper in the manual feed tray.
Print anything that requires more than 2 sheets.
As the paper enters the printer open the top cover.
Remove the toner cartridge.
Look down at the paper.
If it looks like the problems you described, change the toner.
If it looks good, reinstall the old transfer roller and rerun the test.
If transfer roller doesn't fix it, you have a bad fuser. Put the old one in and repeat.

Paper Jam error

Remove the jammed paper. Unplug the printer from the mains and PC. Inspect the rollers, etc for tiny paper piece(s) that may be stuck, or other debris. Try to clean rollers and make sure they are dry.
Keep printer unplugged for about 2 minutes and replug and try a test print.
Also make sure thatyou have waited long enough for the printer to heat up before giving a print job.
Finally, it could be an issue with the paper sensor. If this is the case, you will probably have to take the printer in for servicing..

Hope that helps!

My Lexmark C510 keeps popping up with a Paper Jam 241 error in Tray 1. There is no paper jam. I open the printer door take the tray out, put it back in and shut the door. How can I fix this problem? I...

I have a Lexmark C510 colour printer: Manufacture date June 2005.
I had been getting the "Paper Jam 241 error in Tray 1" message for some time. Sometimes it would print just fine but in the past several months, it's been bad. I'd pull the tray out (notice roller marks on the top sheet that was only partially fed), reinserted the sheet properly into the tray and try again and again. The techy at Lexmark mentioned that I could purchase a new rubber roller that feeds the sheet but that I might first wipe down the roller myself as they get worn and old. I first wiped it down with a damp cloth to clean it then thought to try reconditioning it with leather conditioner we'd purchased for our couch (I'm sure Amourall would work just as well). Voila, the old, dry roller was picking up paper again. Just open the rear door and that grey roller (it's black again when you recondition it) is at the bottom. Hope that helps.

Oki C5500 printer keeps jamming

Open the tray and find yout imput roller. You can remove this roller and put it back on the other side. Normally this is caused because it is worn. The inside of the roller is like a new one.

Error message keeps appearing "paper jam in tray 2" although there is definitely no paper jam.

If you did not get ALL the jammed sheet out, there is still a small piece of paper in there somewhere, probably covering a sensor or micro switch. Get a torch and look carefully. If you don't find anything you may need to disassemble the printer to find it.

PAPER JAM

Rotate tires. Pull out paper tray. Pull down on red low paper indicator at left bottom. Two rollers come down on axel near center. I pulled off the rubber tire like roller, then twisted the roller inside out and reinstalled it with the fresh side out.
If tires dry out again will probably buy new ones from ebay.

RECURRING PAPER JAM - BROTHER MFC 5860 CN

I just bought the 5860 and have this issue right out of the gates. I discovered that the back lid causes the paper jam when using the bottom tray while examing with a flash light during a print job. I dislodged the back plate/lid (same lid you remove to pull paper jam out) out about 10mm and fastened the lid loosely to the back with a piece of tape on each side. The paper from the bottom tray does not slam against the back of the printer any more, thus more freedom of movement and no jams. Just successfully printed an 80 page document. You shouldn't have to do this with a new printer but I got it so cheap with all the rebates that I'm going to keep it and live with this fix. To sum up, the problem is a design flaw where the removable back plate is snapped in too tightly and contacts the bottom tray paper roller (& paper) during a print cycle. To fix you need to clear the path by pulling the back lid out slightly and taping each side with scotch tape to 'suspend'the back plate out about 10mm.a5999d3.jpg
