Im afraid this means your ipod hard drive is scdrewed, but no need to worry as it is not extremely expensive. a new hard drive is available from the apple store and easy enough to put in yourself, so relatively inexpensive at about $20-$60 (aud)

IPod won't sync.

★★★★★
1. Try another USB cord or USB cable.
2. Restrart your computer for a try.
3. Reset or restore your iPod for a try, this way can fix many general iPod problems.
4. Download and install the latest version fo iTunes for a try.
5. You may try this iPod transfer, it's a nice iTunes alternative that can help you upload music and video to iPod, I always use it to sync my iPod when my iTunes can't recognize my iPod, it's easy to use and works pretty well.

Don't know how to add anything

there are 2 ways to put content on your ipod.
one is making playlists and syncing your ipod..you go to file on the top and create playlist.
add songs to the playlist and sync the play list.

another way is to open you itunes with the ipod connected and on the left side you will see 3 sections in the light blue shaded area. the middle section represents you ipod and it's contants, click on music and the music folder will open in a large white window to the right of the blue shaded area.
maximize your music folder on your computer so it is in front of itunes.
drag and drop songs into the first column of the large white area.
drag the song and hold it over the white area, when the border of the white area turns blue drop the song and it wil load onto your ipod. you can do multiple songs by hgilighting the first song pressing the shift key on your keyboard and highlight the last song in the set. left click and hold, drag and drop in the first column of the white area. make sure to watch for thr border to turn blue then drop the songs.

80GB video ipod is not turning on.instead the apple symbol blinks

Connect the ipod to your computer and let it sit for about fifteen minutes. Then it should show up in your computer and under itunes. Usually, if your ipod dies completely, when you try to charge it using a wall or car charger, it will do that, just flashing the apple logo and going back off. Leaving it plugged up to the computer will allow the battery to charge just enough so that it can sync with itunes. While it is plugged into the computer and charging, it should say something like, battery very low, charging. It should work after letting it sit plugged up to the computer.

IPod Classic 80GB Won't Sync More Than 1.7 GB/Hard Restores Itself for No Reason

It sounds like there is a fault with your hard drive. Reformatting your iPod disc might solve the problem. You can do this by right clicking on the iPod drive in My Computer, selecting format, and doing a quick format in Win32. If the problem continues then it will mean a new hard drive to solve it.

80GB Apple iPod- Black

this happens sometimes on the initial use after the upgrade, what may be happening to make the application hang is that itunes is trying to access the internet for the music store causing the hang, especially if youre not on line when syncing. I think there is an option in the menu to turn off the store. If you still get problems, uninstall itunes, download and reinstall again.
