Lcd display unit on the R 300 epson printer not working

Ther is no display on the dispaly unit on the R300 epson printer , so i thought it must have gone faulty, i have tried to get information on the R300 but without joy,i was told to try a method which was to hold down three buttons on the printer at the same time for ten seconds. i did this and got a message on the display unit saying the following, clear waste ink ctr, turn off the printer power. i did this but when i turned the power back on ,no display on the unit, dose this mean the unit is no longer of any use or can i fix the problem.

My printer will not come on when i hold the button down to switch it on. Have changed fuse in plug and have also taken it apart to check internal fuse on PSU board but cannot go any further due to complicate access to rest of psu unit being enclosed in metal cage

Unfortunately, once the LCD panel is gone - it's gone. This means service or replacement.

R300 printer driver do I select from windows men? as they are not listed by printer type when selecting Epson(ie R300)but rather ESC/P v14 etc which mean nothing to me

Is your Epson printer new? If so you would have got a CD. Why not try the CD. If not you could try any Epson near R300 series. It might work or sometime it may detect by itself and connect your printer to the computer.

Hi,

I apologize for a delayed response as i was not at my desk.

I am sorry to hear regarding the problem.Unfortunately, this is a common problem on this printer.There is only one reset procedure that might work. Press and hold the ' Stop ', 'Maintenance ' and ' Power ' buttons for about 10 seconds.Then turn the printer off, and back on.

Note - You still need to get the ink absorber changed.

The repair is not economical as Epson would charge anywhere between $100 - $300 for repair. You could look for the below procedure to DIY :

EPSON R 300 SAYIN PAPER JAM WHEN NO PAPER JAMMED

Make sure that the paper path is completely clear and clean the paper sensors with a q tip. They get very dusty!

Download the status monitor from the Epson web site if it is available for Vista. If you have 64bit Vista chances are it is not available.

This is already a hardware issue if that is the case. You can get some info of your local epson servicer near your area through the epson website, support.epson.com and browse for your printer. If you are having problems the contact epson technical support @ 562-276-1300.
