Hello Check the smoothing capacitor to video output supply voltage, usually derived from any one winding of the LOT. It will come around 10uF350VDC to 47uF 350VDC range. If this capacitor is faulty, or gone less in capacitance with time, this type of fault will occur. Check the green volour output transistor on the video output card, can be located attached to the neck of the picture tube; for any loose soldering or leakage. OK.
Since the lines are vertical, the image is lost sideways and the corruption changes with the image then clearly this is a sign of Y-Sus failure, not the Z-Sus or the buffer boards. An logic or input board failure would affect the entire screen, not just a part of it and a failure in one of the buffer boards would affect strictly defined lines of pixels and the defect would be constantly there all the time. Since you haven't told us the exact model i can't point you to a replacement board.
Take a length of about 6 foot of line, kink it in the middle and pass this through the hole in the spool. Wind the two lengths of line around the spool in their own divisions and in the same direction. The direction of wind is embossed in the reel and the line should be wound tightly and held all the while. When you have about 6-8 inches left in your hand, bring the cover up to the spool and carefully pass the two ends of the line through the holes, push the cover all the way over while pulling on the two pieces of line and ensuring that the lines stay on their own side of the division on the spool. Fit and tighten the bump nut and trim the lines to just about the cut-off blade. The lines should trail out of the holes in the direction of the machine's rotation. Try cut with the tip of the line as much as possible. Cutting nearer the drum flexes the line and will lead to early breaking of the lines. Run the motor at a constant speed and rather move the cutting head in and out of the weeds to affect a deeper cut

Put a hand on each side of the screen and torque the screen in opposite directions so you give it a slight twist. Does the line disappear or get worse? If it does, then the cable is not seating well in the back of the panel. Now that maybe a bad cable or a bad socket. If the line stays regardless and doesn't change, then most likely the panel is failing. Vertical lines on a panel are usually indicative of a failing panel.
The screen is failing. A conductive strip from a flex connector to the glass panel is losing contact when cold. Any warranty left? extended warranty? Usually not repairable, screen has to be replaced and cost as much as a new set....
This could be either a connection problem internally or a problem with the red filter convergence. This is not a project to be attempted by an inexperienced person. The convergence adjustments should only be attempted with the proper setup and equipment. If you can solder, carefully open up the unit and look for poor solder joints and resolder them. You can also reseat all of the connectors and cables. If neither of the above ersolve the problem, take it in for service.
Sounds like the convergence amp are heating up and going out. you can look for the amps and see if there is a loose connection on the trace and if you can solder you may be able to save them or just replace amps with orginal. This is sometimes caused by moving set around, Set being so heavy it can not take a joult like the direct view sets
