How do you hook up cords in a Dell dimension 3000

You just plug them in. Each cord will only fit in it's own spot, you can't get it wrong. There are also USB plugs, those it doesn't matter, any USB device (mouse, keyboard, etc...) can go in any sub slot.
Just plug everything in, you can't get it wrong.

That will happen if you have blown the speaker out using it with high volume. Recheck your wires/plugs first.

Speakers not working

Audio driver installed and not corrupt? Double check the memory modules are all the way seated. I've seen improperly seated memory do weird things. Make sure the audio ports are still enabled. Mine can be disabled in the software.

My Dell inspiron 13r laptop is emitting a very high pitched noise when it is on. I have tried reinstalling my audio drives but nothing seems to be working... Please help

If it is a relatively quiet, high pitched noise, it may not even be from your speakers. I've experienced a high pitched noise whenever i plug in my AC adapter to my PSP, so there is a chance it might be power related.

My computer speakers are making this weird noise

the First thing to test are the speakers form a different source. I believe that if you hook them up to another computer or an mp3 player you will find that the problem goes away and they work fine. (I know this by the info you gave me. THe fact that you get a large hum from the card when it is plugged in means that the output on the card has a short in it and is crossing the connections somewhere.

Solution is to have the card replaced or test it with another set of speakers just to be sure it isn't the cable.
