Wen i turn my laptop on it keeps stared a windows xp setup upgrade an keeps asking 4 my *********** but its not on my bottom off my laptop no more an dont no it and i can not get in my laptop now

look on line for a windows p code, it must be an upgrade key and , almost certainly, specifically intended ofr your laptop's make. what is the make and model please? If there is a recovery partition on your laptop ?? that might allow you to recover the original setup. lternatively, if there is data that you MUST have, obtain a 2.5 to 3.5 drive adapter and attach the hdd to a desktop as a secondary drive, when in windows on your desktop machine you will h=ba able to access the data on the laptop drive.

Add/Remove Window components

Im not sure which file you are referring to but you could just a repair of the installation
this is fot the master boot record

if there are any other files , settings or programs during the repair process options for these should be available

Insert your Windows XP installation CD or recovery disc, and restart the computer.

Instead of attempting to boot Windows as it normally would, the computer will give you an option to boot from the CD.

Press a key when prompted, then wait for the setup program to load.

Press the "R" key on the "Welcome to Setup" screen.

This will cause the CD to launch the Recovery Console instead of attempting to install Windows XP on your computer.

If you have an administrator password on your copy of XP, then you will need to enter it in order to log in to the Recovery Console.

Choose the installation of Windows XP that you want to repair (generally the only option). Wait for the command prompt to appear, then enter "fixmbr." Press "y" when prompted to let the FixMBR utility overwrite the corrupted bootloader with a new copy.

Remove your XP disc or recovery disc, then type "exit" into the command prompt.

The exit command should cause the computer to reboot, allowing the computer to load the new bootloader file and then continue Windows XP startup as normal.

Hope this helps

My ms office got deleted wen my laptop got crashed can i download ms office 4 free as of now i don hav de ms cd now..

Did the MS Office (full version) come pre-installed on your computer when you purchased the computer ?
If yes, then you had paid for it, when you paid for the computer, so contact the manufacturer of your computer for it's product key, after which download the trial version of it and use your product key to get it activated.
If did was not pre-installed on your computer and you had it installed after you bought the computer, using it's disc and you have lost the disc (and product key), then the only option is to buy it again, either a disc version or a downloadable version.

Desperately need to fix my laptop

Yes this can be fixed however it will require reformatting the drive. If you have any vital information on your laptop take it to a professional as you will not be able to recover after you proceed.
Use any bootdisk (Ubuntu, XP, Disk commander) that you have at your disposal. Assuming you still your XP disc, change your BIOS to have the CD as the first boot device. If you have a proper XP disc (non-OEM) it should display a blue setup screen that will disappear after a few minutes. Then press R to enter Recovery Console, press 1 and then enter. Type fixmbr and press enter, then press y and enter again. Type exit and enter, the computer will reboot. Now follow through the install process.

Hard drive cant boot

If you're running Windows XP, put your Windows XP (or recovery) disc in, load Windows Setup, then press R for Recovery in setup. You'll be asked eventually which installation of Windows you want to use, it's usually 1. It'll ask for an admin password, if you haven't set one, hit enter. Then type "fixmbr" and confirm the action. Restart, then that should sort your problem.
