Question about LG 32LC2D Television

1 Answer

Digital Static I have a 32LC2D that I bought this year, it's about 6 mths old. It's getting lines all across the screen. I've tried different outlets, different players, and changing the inputs from the remote. The lines are still there. In fact, the OSD shows twice on the screen almost like when you see two rainbows after a rainstorm. It's all flickering and you can here static in the speakers. I have digital tv, as well as an Xbox 360 and dvd player hooked up to it. I used to have it hooked up to my pc. That's when it started. Now it's very frequent, everytime i turn it on it won't go away. Should I call a tech to come in, or is there something I can do right away?

Hi it sounds like you have multiple problems with your tv. First you said that there were no digital channels. The tv has a bad signal board. The second problem is the colored line running across the screen. That could be two things either the screen itself is bad or your t-con board is bad. The t-con board would be the cheapest of the two to try. You can get parts from www.interliquidparts.com

The imaging sensor (CCD chip) has degraded due to age and failed. This is a common fault on digital cameras over six years old.

Replacing the chip is the only fix, but it's not cost effective on a camera as old as yours as it's job for professionals only.

Sounds like 'bad' or 'dry' capacitors in the vertical deflection circuit. Please note that leaving the white line on the screen too long can burn in the screen, which is permanent damage.

Vertical colour lines on whole screen

The problem is that the panel has failed. Apparently this is a common problem with LCD TV's between 18 mths and 3 yrs old. If it survives over 3 yrs it is likely to last for a few years longer. The cost of replacing the panel is more than a replacement TV!

Images have lines

try the Olympus web link, http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_dig_cam_questions.asp?category=Digital%20Cameras&id=934 and put your question to them.
(With a Olympus Camedia 5000, after many years every picture I take has evenly spaced lnnes across the image. It's both on the screen and when it's printed off through the computer. I changed memory cards but still have same condtion. Also tried shooting with all kinds of different settings but same condition)

Heavy white lines accross the screen

Replace it, it is going bad. I could tell you what would cause this such as bad driver IC etc. but bottom line is its five years old, you got your moneys worth out of it so bite the bullet and get a new one.

LG 32LC2D HDTV

Many TV's with an LG plasma display (or built by LG for other manufacturers) have a manufacturing defect that has been reported widely on the Internet. LG, Akai, Samsung1.gif and Zeneth among others.

The sparkles are (usually red) visible on a black background with all inputs after the set has been used approximately one year. Soon after a pop is heard and the picture no longer shows at all.

LG and some other manufacturers using the LG displays have not acknowledged this defect and will only repair them free during the warranty.

Often techs will merely adjust voltages and or picture controls, which does not fix the problem but it just disguises it -- until the display blows -- usually after the warranty expiration.

I own a 42" Akai that is 9 months old that has recently been showing the red sparkles. My set is being replaced.

You should contact service if your set has this problem is under warranty and it should be replaced at no charge.

Good luck. :)
