How to rejet

If you remove the baffles, you will effectively be running open pipes. This will cause your bike to run lean. So yes, you will need to rejet.

The K and N filter should come with complete instructions including any rejetting information you might need (if you need to rejet at all)

well if you like the sound and looks of the aftermarket pipe then rejetting would be the best thing to do to solve the problem and to keep the performance and sound. if you are not wanting to deal with the rejetting then the easiest fix would be to put the stock pipe back on. if you need more help or info just ask.

to start with you need to purchase a jet kit. it will come with instructions. the stock needle is non adjustable. also you need bigger jets.

If you went to a less restrictive exhaust and didnt rejet and the bike is popping its running to lean. Need to rejet the carbs when you open up the exhaust.

You MUST rejet the bike!!! When cold or warming up the bike should be running in a rich mode. After it warms up you are running lean. Cheaper to rejet than replace "hole in the top of pistons".
To help prevent more problems in the future, find who ever told you that rejetting was not required, turn them around, take your right foot and kick their @#$. This could save you lots of grief and $$ in the future.

Did the bike run o.k. before this began?

i changed my pipe on 07 dt125lc and did not rejet, seemed fine until i holed a piston. best to rejet me thinks, about £20 instead of £150 for piston rebore bearings and jets plus the time to re build.
