I have a phillips 9p5031c101. 50" projection tv. when i turn it on it will chirp and do nothing. eventually i can get a picture. but, when anything bright comes on the pictue shrinks to a blurry box. any ideas?

If its chirping contantly when powered on take a look at the chirping tv repair kit on the site www.TvRepairKits.com If its not chirping the next most common failure is the flyback

I had the same exact problem pulled the chassis ohmed the convergance ics though one read different than the other replaced both put chassis back in set fired right up.Hope this solves your problem!
