Why when I print a webpage does it come out in garbage code?
When I print a webpage, anything, it comes out in code all over the page, nothing makes sense - maybe this is HTML I don't know. How do I fix this please?

Reinstall your printer driver. Make sure you have the latest one:

A printer prints almost anything that is shown in a computer screen and it depend on what you're trying to print. If you want to print contents from a webpage, you have two options to chose from. The first is of course the contents in the webpage that you want printed and the second option is to print the whole webpage. If you want to print only the contents in a web page, e.g. an article or photo, you have to highlight the article or photo first then right-click and select 'Print...'. It should print the article or photo only. But if you want to print the whole webpage, chances are that it only prints the 'skeleton' of the webpage and not the contents, hence the reason you have only the left part of the webpage printed. However, if you highlight the whole webpage and then right-click and select 'Print...' I am sure you will have the whole webpage printed. Cheers.
your printer is printing garbage because the file you tried to print corupt or the printer driver is corupt restart printer and pc then try printing a test page from the printer driver if this works then that file you printed and did come out properly is corrupt suggest you delete or if it a word file copy and paste into a fresh word document should sort out the corrupt file if the test page also comes out as garbage the uninstall the printer driver and reinstall it then test again
There's an old saying with computers-Garbage in,Garbage out.If you feel your computer is printing only garbage,do a print preview. Then you can see what the printer is going to print. This also gives you the opportunity to pick which pages you want printed. http://www.udel.edu/topics/printlessnew/PPreview.html
Please go to this page for a walk thru of print preview.Hopefully there will be no more garbage, right?
Hi fizzy81 Most of the software has a PrintView facility. Select the Printview and see there is something on the Page displayed. If nothing, there is nothing wrong with the printer. It is possible you are trying to print a selection without actually selecting anything. I am assuming that you have ink in the cartridge. Also, go to another program, or a webpage and try to print from there. This is to find out whether something is wrong with the printer,. luciana44
Chances are it's adobe-based web pages. There's a known problem with coding discrepancies on Adobe items imbedded in webpages being directly printed.
If you can save the file to a full .pdf or maybe convert it to a .doc before trying to print it might do the trick. If not, best to steer clear of the problem webpage altogether.
I would first try to see that your paper trays are set correctly. Meanning that the paper size are set to the same paper size in the tray. The knobs that input the paper size Magicly they move. Also, make sure that you clear out all the print jobs in the print "Q". Some body may have a odd paper size tring to print. Also, has anyone chaged anything on your network or the setting in the copier?

What is the error code from page 69 and 70 of the E-232 manual?
Here is the webpage to download anything that you may be missing. The manual has a very complete section on complete clearing of jams.
In reading this HP forum I have found many other LaserJet 1100 owners who are trying to do the same thing as you.
Many of them recommend various cable solutions from Sewell. When you contact Sewell, make sure to specify your printer model, and ask what specific cables and/or adapters you need to make it work vis USB. They sound quite knowledgeable, and seem to have dealth with this before.
Hello,
It sounds as if the printer is receiving PostScript and that's a language it can't understand.
On your PC (assuming Windows operating system), get properties on the printer and look for a driver name. Most drivers that are PostScript have "PS" in the name. If your driver name has PS as part of the name, or if the driver does not correctly describe the printer, change the driver to match the printer.
If you have any troubles doing this, include the version of Windows (or other OS) and we'll be able to provide step-by-step instructions.
