Question about Zenith A27B33W 27" TV

Television There is no sound or picture on the television screen, only a eeeeeeeeee noise.

    My 27" was working when suddenly it went pop and went off with a subsequent eeeeeeeee noise being emmited.Also slight smell of burn . Humidity was high at the time.Any ideas? Many Thanx,Paul

I found a similar problem with another Zenith tv and it sounds pretty close to the problem stated above. This was threir solution to it...


REPLACE all 3 caps; 560pF 2KV p/n 22-8386-05 (Buy from Digi-Key good parts) even if one still looks good, very common failures and 9 out of 10 times if
the H.O.T. is also shorted the Fly should still be good.

Most likely the vertical oscillator circuit has failed. As CRT televisions have gone the way of the dinosaur, my advice to you is to give a fond adieu and invest in a new TV.

Your TVs LOT [Line Output Transformer] may be got shorted. It can be replaced. There is no need to replace the picture tube. The noise you hear from your tv is due to this short. Contact any service technician or authorised service center.

The humming noise from my hitachi 42hds69 television seems to have gotten a little louder. This humming sound is more prevelant on various stations. The humming sound seems to be normal/better on dark...
usually it means your screen is going bad unless it is a fan or some mechanical part thats humming if it comes from the screen itself the screen panel going bad.now you can check cables and eveything else for this a signal loss type of short but if you have allready checked all cables or recievers or connected devices for this then its a simple main panel humm means a bad screen panel sorry to say but i hope this helps..

N o picture just static noise
The symptom sounds like a dead tuner and the screen blanking may be due to missing video synchronization signals which may cause either blanking or 'blue screen' on some sets.
This could also still be because of a failing power supply although they will generally just cause no turn-on at all.
I would first substitute another TV just to be sure your signal source (cable or satellite) isn't causign the loss of signal.

can be a faulty mains board, does the sound still work? if not, can be mains board, and at last if there is a continuous clicking sound it a faulty power supply.

TV will not turn on. It makes a nonstop clicking noise.
Sounds to me like the high voltage power supply is attempting to fire off the metal halide lamp without success.
