Sony DCR-TRV8 video transfer problems
The USB drive for Sony CAM you can download from Sony web but the USB will not allow you to transfer video from your CAM only for memory stick
However if you have firewire input on your Laptop, have you? normaly if you have firewire input on your laptop as soon as you connect your CAM it will detect automatic either with windown movies maker or with Nero
Sometime the firewire from CAM defect I repaired a few of them with this problem
Can you conect this CAM to another computer or try different cable ?
Or tell me exactly what input you have on your laptop such firewire input, PCMCIA slot
Cheers
I have almost an identical problem as this, The camera shows images in the viewfinder as well as the LCD with the colors bleeding. Almost seems like the image is overexposed. And if I squeeze the camera with my fingers on the sides while im holding it (closer to the lens, but still on the sides) the image returns to normal. I have opened the camera and looked for any loose connections or screws, but all seems well. I will tinker with it again tomorrow and post the results..

Okay so today I messed around with the inside of the camera, and what I think the problem is that there is some space inside the lens that is not tightly sealed... After opening the camera up, it was a small black area on the side of the lens that needed to be pushed for the video to return to normal, I tried unscrewing that area to get inside, but there are quite a few connections running to and from that area so I decided not to mess with it. But I did tighten all the screws in the area and it did seem to make a difference as the video does stay normal for a longer time now than it did before and does seem to handle movement much better. If this problem becomes as bad as it were before, I will take the lens apart and see whats going on inside. But I do seem to think that the area or seating of the lens is slightly off and that is what is causing the image to become blurred.
Have the same exact problem... Were you guys able to find a solution?
