9 times out of 10 it is something that is not set right. First eliminate any outside source by running the cable (or output of a VCR playing a tape) directly to the TV and tuning to channel 3. Then go into the menu, navigate to the audio page and make sure the speakers are set to ON and the set is not in the SAP mode. If you do all that and the set still has no audio, then your audio output IC probably burned out and should be replaced by a qualified tech.

Sound doesn't work in HDMI mode, just picture. I tried buying a new HDMI cord but that didn't work either. Then one night the TV just turned off and now it won't turn back on.

Likely not related but HDMI does not like being connected if either unit is plugged in or powered up.

As to the TV let me know the brand and model number and what if any lights at all come on when you plug it in etc.

Hi MY TV HAS NO PICTURE OR SOUND, AND IT WAS FLASHING RED WHEN TURNED ON, BUT NOW IT WILLNOT EVEN GO ON AND I COULD NOT HEAR THE FANS ON EITHER, PLEASE HELP

Follow the money or this case the voltage--follow power cord into the set and to the power supply board--there will be a fuse there---extremely unusual for there not to be blinking lights if the set does not turn on---

Sound but no picture. menus work.

I had the same problem. In the menu, the image button was grey, and could not be hi-lighted, and the screen stayed blue. I was using the AC power cord. I plugged in the DC power cord instead, and it "woke" the unit up. I switched back to the AC power and it works fine. If you don't hve the DC cord that came with the TV, try andy 12 volt dc output cord with a positive tip.

SANYO Model CLT2054 Television

sounds a lot like you lost the video driver or control board functionality. From the 'decay' of your image, with sound still working, and all else being good, you're primed for a new video controller. Are you inclined to do the repair yourself? The service manuals are hard to get online, but the local service center MIGHT sell you one.
