No sound or vision playback of dv tape

Hi, I have recently bought a Panasonic NVGS11 and up to a few days ago was very pleased with it. It has now developed a fault. When I insert a tape and try to play it back on the LCD screen, there is no picture or sound either. The tapes play back fine on other mini dv format cameras. Is there any particular setting I should have the camera on?

Distorted sound on playback, samsung mini dv camcorder.

Try a DV tape cleaner first. If that doesn't work, see what it would take to get the audio heads realigned. Any camera store can do that for you.

Canon Optura 40 playback - only get blue screen - no image, no sound

Try a cleaning tape. Buy a good quality cleaning tape (Panasonic makes one) and remember: cleaning tapes are abrasive so don't overuse it! Overuse can result in the need to replace the rotating drum assy in the camcorder. I'll bet a cleaning tape takes care of your problem.

hi, if you have stuck the head cleaner in and this has not removed the black lines then the head might either need a thorough clean or may be damaged.

Digital jitter during playback

The random audio/video breakup sounds like a tape path alignment issue. Best done by a repair shop.
