Remove the Canon software and put it back in the box Assuming you are using Windows ME/2000/XP/Vista the computer will find the camera all for its self- assuming the camera is switched on and set to the image upload mode[check your manual]

Computer does not detect Canon Ixus 60

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

When i try to download pictures from my camera a message pops up that says can not detect camera

Try uninstalling your digital camera software, restart your computer, then reinstall the software. This should reboot your camera and it's components.
hope it helps!

Cannot correctly install my camera to my computer.

Once you installed the drivers and software from CD, once you connect the camera to USB port, it should automatically detect tyhe new device and configure the drivers and then say ready to use new device. Or at most say ready to use new device after reboot. You don't normally have to manually do anything. After this your My Computer should show an additional Disk Drive that represents your camera.

Hi Set the camera mode to preview turn it off then connect USB to the camera and turn it on,no need to instal the canon software to get the pictures or video use microsoft scan and camera. The problem is not with the codec. If you want to use the camera software you have to read how to install it correctly.
