Sound problems with installing radio in 2001 tahoe

I have installed a new radio in my 2001 tahoe with the wiring adapter. The radio powers but does not produce any sound. I noticed a wiring harness that plugged into the factory radio but it does not connect to the aftermarket. There is o problem with the radio, I checked it out in my 2000 chevy 1500 and it works fine with the same harness. Please any help will be appreciated!!!!

Thanks

Instrument cluster not working and climate control stuck on defrost after a new radio install (and its not working). No blown fuses and all wiring is not burnt or crossed up. 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe

Try putting the old radio back in there might be a can fault . If it all works with the old radio the all you have to do is join the can wires.

Kenwood KDC-248u installing in my 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe. Steering Control Wire

There is no "wire" to use, the factory radio is connected to the canbus (part of the vehicle communications wiring that goes to your computer in the car). You need a converter box that converts it to a signal that your radio can "understand."

Is a 2004 tahoe sound system comparable with a 2001 tahoe

well i guess it all depends on if it fits? u can put most any radio and speakers into a car and it fits and all the wires match up, but u also have to have the right connection, and if ur not sure how to put it in i would suggjest just going to a automobile shop or car dealer near you. Hope it helped

I switched out my radio in my 2000 pontiac montana...hooked up new stereo and it will not work. It work fine in my other car. I tried two radios in the montana and it will not work. everything is hooked up...

Hello... sorry to hear you are having a problem. The theftlock system does not pertain to anything aftermarket that you do. The theftlock only locks down the factory radio if it is removed, and only if it was activated before it was removed. There was a red led light on the radio. With the vehicle turned off, if the light on the radio flashed, then it was activated. If you hook the factory radio back up then you will have to enter the code to unlock it. Since you used a wire harness adapter, check the red wire and make sure you have 12v current on that line. You didnt state if the radio powers up with no sound or if it doesnt power up at all. If it powers up with no sound, then check to make sure that the blue/white wire is hooked to the blue wire on the adapter harness. Let me know if you are having no sound or no power and I can help you further with this problem.

Im trying to install a new radio into 1997 Ford Expedition w/premium sound. However I cannot get any sound. I have the wriring harness.

Hello... I am sorry to hear you are having a problem I am assuming that you are using a wire harness adapter to interface between your factory harness and the aftermarket radios harness. If the aftermarket stereo has a blue/white wire, you need to connect it to the blue and the blue/white wires in the adapter harness. This will turn on the amplifiers. If your aftermarket stereo only has a blue wire, then use it as the connection with the blue and blue/white on your aftermarket harness adapter. Hope this helps. If you need any further assistance, let me know!

Poor radio reception with Jensen VM9512 in 2001 Nissan Altima

If you used the 2 plug nissan radio harness, there should be a blue wire on there which is the (power antenna) even if your car doesn't have a power antenna, this wire needs to be connect to power on the am/fm amplified ant which is used in many nissan cars.

if the jensen has a blue or a blue/white wire, connect it to one of those. if not, you can always connect it to the red ACC wire. that should solve your reception problem..

hope this helps

No sound with USB and IPOD Apline IDA-X100

You connected your blue alpine wire (power antenna) to your blue wire (amplifier remote on) on the BMW harness adapter. You need to undo this, amputate your blue alpine wire (because your E36 has no power antenna) and connect the alpine blue wire with white stripe (remote power) to your blue wire on the harness adapter.

When you switch source from the radio, alpine is shutting off your amplifier through the connected power antenna wire. Since you're not listening to the radio anymore, it sees no reason why it should give it power.
