When I try to play a DVD movie I get sound but no picture ( I previousley submitted this request but for some reasin I cannot send you an e-mail.)
It sounds like you have set video output to compost or s-video but you're using component video (or the other way around). You're going to need to try with a component cable, an s-video cable and a composite cable to find out what output the DVR is using. Unfortunately the manual is no longer available to download so I cannot tell you what button on the remote changes the output but if you have the manual still this is what you are looking for. It would be useful to know if you can see the DVR's onscreen display or if you are not getting any video output at all. If there is no display on any output unfortunately this suggests a physical fault, your DVR is essentially a minimal spec PC with a specialist graphics chip, it's not unknown for the graphics chip or it's DV decoder hardware to fail.

Try the "Source" button.
Thinking about it, it is much more likely that you pressed the "Source" button and the DVR is trying to display from an input that has nothing connected to it such as the composite sockets on the front.
try pressing Source (or it may be marked input) and giving it 3 - 4 seconds, if nothing happens try again, however if you try it 4 - 5 times and nothing happens then nothing is going to happen.
By the way CM SKIP skips forward when recording, usually 30 seconds per press, and is normally used to skip commercials.

First thing to check is to plug it into a different TV set if you have access to one. If still not working, then suspect the cable or the DVD player/recorder itself. If it works fine on another tv then all depends on which input you have it plugged into on your main set - get the right cables to try plugging it into a different input on the tv (post back with the TV make and model and the details of which input and which cable type you are using if you need help with this). If you have cable or satellite or another DVD/VCR/PC - do they work on the TV? on different inputs. If not then the problem is either the TV or possibly the TV settings. How are you trying to send an e-mail? perhaps with some details we can help. Hope this helps :)

Usually answered in minutes!
I have 2 DVD players, with my second player I get both video and audio (I can play a DVD.) With my Cyberhome 1600 I get only the audio. I can play a DVD but can only hear the voices, the screen remains blue. I tried changing the cables, but I get the same result. The problem is in the Cyberhome 1600 player. Cyberhome is out of business. I need someone who has encountered this problem before.
Please see my request
I have had one possible answer that did not cure the problem. Hope there is someone out there that has an answer to help me.
please read what my problem is. It is not the T.V. or the cables ( using player #2 everything works fine ) The Cyberhome has an audio output but the video is a BLUE screen. It is possible that I may have entered an input on the remote that the unit did not like.
there is no on screen display at all, only a blue screen. I believe this happened when I inadvertantly pressed a button on the remote. I do not remember which button, it may have been CM SKIP
