Question about Mitsubishi WD-52327 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
When I turn my TV on, the Timer light stays lit 'green' steady for approximately 1 min. After that, the Lamp light blinks 'green' for approx 2 min. then turns steady 'red'. The screen never turns on and I never hear any audio. This was an intermittant problem initially, then it quit doing it for about a week, now it will not come on at all, just goes thru the same cycle. I called Mitsu and they said it was the bulb. The set is barely over 1 yr old and I have a hard time believing it is the bulb. Is there something that 'tells' the set to turn on the bulb after x-amount of time? If so, I believe this may be the culprit. As stated earlier, the set just went past the 1 yr mark and the warranty is expired (of course). I have tried unplugging the set for several minutes, plugging back in and resetting the set. I have tried removing and reinstalling the bulb several times, and I continue having the same problem. I would hate to pay $200 for a new lamp only to find out that my suspicions are correct and it is not the bulb. Any suggestions?????
I have a 2 year old Mitsubishi Rear Projection 52" model WD-52525. I recently experienced the same problem as you. My TV quit without any warning and the red lamp light came on. I bought a replacement lamp just like you did, did everything you did too, but it still didn't work either. Since it's past the 1 yr warranty (of course), I took it in to an authorized service center for an estimate. They determined the light engine failed and it will cost me $816.35 to repair. I already shelled out $240+ for a lamp, $48 for the repair estimate and I said "hell" no, I'm not going to fix it for another $800+ and bought a new TV. I'm writing a letter to Mitsubishi expressing my deep dissatisfaction (to put it mildly) with this faulty product and will be requesting reimbursement, which I probably won't get. I sincerely hope this is not the same problem your TV has, but if it is be prepared for a costly fix.

I had the same problem, started to come on..went to blinking red light then power shut down. Replaced lamp...same problem. Read about capacitor problems online, replace 3 on power board and the set has been working for 3 weeks now...give it a try, I'm not all theat techie but a few minutes with a soldering iron saved me at least $500.00 dollars that the autorized Mitsubishi dealer quoted.

As expected, I just shelled out $200 + bucks for a new lamp, and, big surprise, I have the same problem! This pisses me off to no end. The customer support folks guarantee that this is the problem. I had my suspicions all along that it was something else. There has to be something intermittantly messed up with whatever it is that 'tells' the lamp to come on. I do not get any audio unless the lamp comes on. I also found that when the lamp does 'decide' to come on, you can here a faint noise that almost sounds like an alarm prior to the light coming on....bwoop, bwoop, bwoop, then the audio and lamp come on. I have noticed that the noise doesnt happen everytime it 'decides' to come on, however, if I am having problems getting it to come on and I hear the noise, I KNOW it will come on and it does. Does ANYONE out there have any kind of clue what this problem is?????? Could it be a relay or a timer or something?????????? Thanks in advance.
