Re: labtec optical mouse
Is this a wireless mouse? If so, plug the USB connector into your computer. The pc should detect it and install the drivers automatically. Then there should be a button on the bottom of the mouse, press it, then press the button on the USB connector. This establishes a connection between the mouse and connector.

Press the connect button on the remote sensor and when it blinks press the connect button under the logitech mouse. The blinking on the receiver should stop if it finds it. Make sure there are not wireless devices like cordless phones, etc beside the receiver or mouse as it degrades the signal.
maybe the battery?
follow the steps below to troubleshoot the mouse Wireless mouse does not respond (generic instructions) Try to Resynchronize your device with the receiver(connector) Follow these steps.: Note When you synchronize the mouse or the keyboard with the receiver, put the device near the receiver and put other wireless keyboards and mouse at least 6 feet away. 1. Press the button on the receiver, and then verify that the light on the receiver starts to blink. 2. If a dialog box appears on the screen in several seconds, follow the instructions that appear on the screen. Otherwise, go to the next step. 2. Press and release the Connect Channel button on the bottom of the mouse or the keyboard. 3. Check the green light on the receiver. A steady green light means the synchronization was successful. If the problem persists, try steps 1 through 3 again. For the Wireless Notebook mouse: This issue can occur if the micro-switch on the bottom of the mouse is not released. Use a pin or a pen to try to release the button if it is depressed. or Try different port and restart your computer. or Reinsert the batteries or install fresh batteries If you have the possibility check whether the problem is because of your computer or the device, try the mouse or the keyboard on a different computer.
Here are the instructions from the manual for my Contour Design SURFACE SOUND COMPACT (with minor editorials)
To initiate pairing:
Place the bluetooth device and your mobile phone within 0.3 meter (1 foot) of each other - I prefer to place both on a table infront of me
Switch on your phone and select it Bluetooth discover mode (you'll have to figure this one out on your own!)
Immediately after turning the bluetooth device on (ie. lifting the microphone), press and hold both the TALK button and the VOL + button for about 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes red and blue alternately and a sound can be heard in the speaker - I had trouble getting it to co-operate once it started into the seeking handset mode of beeping, so try to press the two buttons before all that beeping starts
Once the mobile phone detects the carkit, a "contour SSC" message will be displayed. Follow the phone instructions to accept the pairing. The PIN coade (or passkey) is 0000, then press "yes" or "ok". I assume the PIN code is the same for all of them, as the manual appears mass printed.
If the pairing was successful, the indicator light will switch to blue and flash slowly. If you haven't started the discovery mode within 5 minutes, it will stop. In this case, you must start the pairing again as step 3 above.
install a logitech driver for this mouse they usually have a compatibility issue with an irq in nividia but with logitech drivers the irq setting is set off the nividia set
or you can manually set the irq setting for either nividia or your mouse manually did the techs explain this too you when you took it in
this is likely the case that the wireless l.d. is haveing conflict with nividia irq setting
heres a link with another possiblility that is states its 2 links one for all the troubleshooting problems and the one decriscribed of what your asking about
