The needle, on the other hand, does not move in either direction, and the dial emits an audible beep beep noise, as if I had moved it too far in either direction . Because of this behavior, it appears as though I have gone beyond the dial's maximum adjustment range.

replace water level sensor
if less than 5 years old
should be able to get the part from a washing machine repairer
or hoover washing machine parts supplier

Did you try with temperature setting to the minimum?
Normally the machine needs to heat the water at programmed temperature before starts, it fails to do it because some issue on the heating system it would not start....

Pull the crown out to position No. 3, turn clockwise to go to hour and minutes hands; the small dial showing days of the week will move, and the 24-hour dial will also move correspondingly.To set the date, pull the crown out to position No. 2 and turn clockwise until you have set the desired date; push the crown back to position No. 1.

Hi just read your posting.Does the timer move at all from the original position that you started it from?If it does not move at all then you need a new or reconditioned timer.If it does move but stops at a specific spot,What position does it stop at?Are you in Australia? If so I can give you the contacts on where to purchase a timer.Please reply and I can guide you on how to get the correct timer number for your machine.Looking forward to your reply.

HUMMING NOISE MAYBE OVERLOAD ON MOTOR OR PUMP SO DEAL NOW WITH DRAIN PROBLEM 1ST IT MAYBE NEED TO DRAIN FILTER CLEAN

have you checked the lid switch

I have a performa 1100. No 4 is the 40 degree is the normal cottons cycle which is the one I use. Tip- only fill the drum 3/4 full otherwise it struggles to drain and spin- I know!

Press "end of cycle" for 3 seconds, & tell me what happened.
