Kenmore refrigeraor My freezer(top) fan comes on but does not run too long. It freezes ice ,cuts off and doesn;t want to cut back on sometimes till the ice starts to melt. I have replaced the defrost timer. What do you suggest.

I'm not sure if the compressor is coming on enough, I know it comes on some since it does cool and does freeze water somrtime.

The fan should be on anytime the cmressor it running. T would need some more info to help you out more. If you can check to see if the fan is off when the compressor is or is the cmpressor running but not the fan at times. that would help in fixing your problem. get back to me with it if you can. thanks

well the only thing I could tell you with out really knowing if the compressor is running and not the fan, you might have a bad cold control that is not sensing the correct temp in the refrigerator.

I have a kenmore refrigerator side by side. my problem is that my freezer is not freezing the top where the ice is. everything was melting and defrosting inside the freezer except the lower part. i need to...

Hello,

If lower section of the freezer is working but upper not the most likely problem is going be the fan in the freezer isn't running. Do you hear that fan running? if fan is not running it also wont circulate air into the fresh food(ref) compartment. If it isn't running you can possibly jump start it by removing back and flinging the fan blade with your finger to get it going till you can get replacement

Good luck,i hope this helps

Hello, The drain behind the back panel in the freezer is frozen or blocked up. Remove the back panel remove as much ice as possible and pour boiling water in the bottom section under the evaporator. be careful not to touch the aluminum it will cut you or break. you will see the drain hole sometimes it takes a while to thaw all the ice. Hope this helps and please rate me Thank You.

Freezer makes a humming noise and is not freezing

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Ice melted and fridge not cold enough kenmore 363.50622000

Several things possible - fan in freezer side not running, defrost thermostat not working, if fan runs and cuts off & on, then the defrost heater strip could be out, but check the defrost timer under fridge; not cycling, you can manually turn to see if fan cuts off and on. If you have "ice shelf" in coils on freezer side then no air circulates in freezer and over into refrigerator side.

Freezer fan

actually, freezer fan has to come on otherwise how is the fridge supposed to cool.(fridge draws off from the freezer compartment). check if there is power to the fan. if freezer is nice and cold and fan does not run(assuming there is no power to the fan at that time, then you would need to check your freezer thermistors after that, your board. all this is assuming you dont have a blockage or shortage of gas in the sustem.
