My washing machine won't spin!

I have kenmore 80 series heavy duty/ super capacity plus washer that after it fills with water,hot or cold and it starts the wash cycle, I noticed that the agitator only moves once in awhile and stops

hum either a bad timer sticking the point contacts close. have u tried this in all cycles? and possibly a motor with bad windings not enough power to run agitation? try running in mild or gentle and see what happens? I was tempted to say the cam dogs in agitator but they dont work then stop then work, when they go out they go out.

Most likely, the legs on the machine aren't level, causing it to move during operation.

Old Washer won't spin or agitate

You found a belt? Most w/p washer do not have a belt they are direct drive. take off the pump and motor to replace the motor coupling, 2 plastic pieces w/ a rubber in between

if its a 2 piece agitator.. the gears in top of agitator is stripped out.. change gears be like new....spin top countor clockwise if it dont grap.. gears bad

As with basic spin faults -a number of reasons usually 1 motor brushes, 2 motor 3 motor control pcb or the obvious one - the belt has come off.

the coupler on mine was wrecked (little flat plastic and rubber part that sits between the motor and transmission)... $5 online or $30 at your local appliance repair shop
