I'm having continuous problems printing photos. The colors are routinely fading or streaking. When I clean the print head, the problem usually goes away temporarily and a photo or two will print fine. Then the problem invariably returns. I've also tried aligning the print head, but that hasn't helped, either. I've been using compatible ink cartridges (not Canon brand). Canon says the problem could be originating because I'm not using Canon-brand ink cartridges. The cartridges I bought online say they are Canon-compatible on the box. I've had the printer for a little more than two years, and had no problems before a couple months ago.
Try to manually clean the printer head. Take a cotton cloth and dab a little bit of alcohol (like whiskey) and then clean the printer head & the cartridges with it. Do remember it is a delicate process and if you messup, you might damage the printer/cartridges. So be careful & lemme know the result.
