After plugging the unit in,it starts its cycle, then begins clicking like its stuck. After it stops clicking, the hour glass displays and the on button flashes. No other functions work.I unplug it and try again with the same results.
Solution #2 Above about unplugging overnight is the only way I found to cure this problem.
I had exactly the same problem after a power outage. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling sw and drivers, and also various ways shutting the system down and starting again, but nothing worked. Then, I turned off the printer first, unplugged usb connection from the printer and unplugged the power. Then closed down the system the normal way. Let the entire system stay like that for about 6 hours, overnight. In the morning started the system. Connected power and usb to printer. Turned on. EVERYTHING STARTED WORKING again like before. It seems that this unplugging and waiting reset the printer to previous values. IF this does not work for you then try HP's resetting of the printer methods. If you contact them by e-mail, they will send you instructions. Good Luck. THG
Cleaning your appliance may very well take care of your problem. But if not make sure the drivers and the software have been installed. If they appear to be installed then uninstall them and restart your computer and reinstall them. If you have the same problem then take to a qualified service center.
