Use a plan phone to test first before attaching it to fax....

  • Anonymous Mar 13, 2009

Use a plan old analog phone to test the dial tone and to make in-bound/out bound calls. If all works OK then the issue is with Fax machine. If not then issue is with local phone company.

Dx-800 wont work with answering machine. Tried all the fax settings to use with a tam. Tam picks up line then dx-800 drops out everytime.

Set the answering machine to answer on 4 rings and the fax to answer on 6 rings.Do this with answering machine menu.

DX-800 beeps with Incomplete Info Code = 720

Error Code 720: Cannot connect to the Pop Server. (Incorrect Pop Server IP Address) Pop Server is down.

Solution: Check the Pop Server IP Address. Contact the network Administrator

Regarding the beeping noises. The DX-800 has multiple settings for beeps, rings and the dialing monitor. If it is the latter, press MONITOR button once, then press the DOWN arrow, until silenced. Some ringer/beep settings are under Fax Parameters, some are in a special SERVICE MODE.

let us know if you can isolate which one and we can help turn it off. At least now you know what the 720 code means.

Good Luck!

press the monitor button and check for a dial tone thats the first step. have you had any changes to phone system or internet recently. you could also prees the memory button and try to send a fax directly without memory use, you should hear it dial then connect and send.

Fax Machine Dial Tone

I looked in the manual, you can hit the monitor button and then hit the left arrow, this will reduce the volume. When you get to the desired level, hit the monitor button again.
