You were not too clear on the problem, but if you mean playback, then a very good program is PowerDVD. It will access the files stored (Pinnacle and other capture devices, store the files as .mpg typed, NOT DVD .vob files.) Software like AVS video Converter, can create the DVD formatted disks; trial is free download.

If you can't see separate audio capture device in VLC and you aren't using separate cable from your device to your soundcard, then you can't get sound with VLC. If you use separate cable, make sure you have selected you soundcard as audio capture device.
Your PCTV card has got S-Video input. Just connect the S-video output of the Tata sky box if available or use a RCA to S-video adapter to input the video to the tuner card. Now for audio u can connect it to line in of PC. To watch or Record, just select the input as S-Video in the channel selection in PCTV application
To my regret,they are right. The Pinnacle pctv pro card doesn't work under the Win XP OS.
The real issue here - that this is a known problem for at least 3 years and they did nothing to solve it !!!
