Kawasaki 19.2 cordless drill

Batteries all powered up, pull the trigger and ...nothing. Trigger was hard to pull, when unstuck, drill wouldn't operate from that point forward. Any quick fix?? I have the same problem of no trigger movement after I picked up my 691220 Kawasaki 21.6V drill from my son's house. I am an industrial engineer and problem solver. I decided because I was attached to this drill that I would disassemble the drill and fix the stuck trigger/switch. After figuring how to disassemble the drill housing I found that the trigger/switch had shorted and melted the switch housing putting the trigger in a bind. The only fix will be to replace the switch assembly. I will call the Service number 1-800-590-3723 and determine if they will send me the switch/trigger assembly 13MAR2009.
Reading the other posts I am surprised there has not been a recall on the drill and not just some of the chargers.

Hi Tim, Sounds like you got it figured out! The only question I see is if there is a quick fix, and it looks like you answered your own question. You can certainly pursue requesting that it be fixed as a manufacturing defect/ faulty part, or even a safety hazard as that is your right. While I can not suggest you take that route, the old metaphor of the sparking trigger that melted in my hand always seemed to get a lot of attention. Good Luck to you, hope this Fixsya!

Bosch cordless drill not working.

First The model is pretty new. you need to register your tool on line. this takes you from a one year warranty to a three year warranty. They will give you a pro-vantage number. with that said it sounds like a trigger switch. Yhe trigger switch is the brain of your tool. not only does it do your variable speed but it also controlls the brake and your fuel gauge. Because of the cost I highly recomend taking it to your closes Bosch service center.

Having charged both batteries the drill will not work. It seems to not get any power.

Hi there, let me see if I can help.

1.Since this is a 4 piece kit, test the batteries in some of the other tools to make sure the batteries are good

2. This could be a malfunctioning unit, If you just bought it, take it back to the store and get a replacement, (you may have to take in all 4 and do a complete swap but most home improvement stores have no problem doing this)

3. The Forward and Reverse selector just above the trigger is stuck in the middle meaning, the drill is not in forward or reverse and when you press the trigger nothing happens. See Page 15 of this PDF for more information.

4. If none of this works, there is a Recall for that Battery Unit. Check This PDF to see if what you bought applies.

Hope this helps.

Where can i get a new trigger switch for a kawasaki 19.2v cordless drill?

I have a trigger out of a new drill. My motor went out. Do you want to purchase the switch? [email protected]

When I pull the trigger on my cordless drill smoke comes out of the vents and you can smell burning odor

The motor has jammed and burned out. It is probably not worth trying to repair.
If it is still within the warranty period take it back for replacement under guarantee

Kawasaki 19.2 cordless drill

I will go one further, they had a recall of their batteries which could have led to your problem back in 2007 and the chargers on some of them also. I would again call the number and give them the date codes from both and then try again at getting it replaced. Their are a lot of posts online for this to be a simple occurence, The battery could have shorted internally causing the switch to melt and there would be a potential for user injury also. Let me know if you find anything out and if you have there web address I would be interested.

Re: Burned trigger switch: call the number on the drill (800.590.3723) and tell them what happened. They will offer to send you a new switch or have you send the drill in for replacement of the switch--although the person I talked with said they would probably just replace the whole drill.
