I have the same problem but I do not have a laptop. I want to download movies but I cannot because my emachine only has USB ports. I purchase the jvc vc-vdv206u as the recommended in the manual but it will not work because it is a 6pin and not USB. If you know what type of cable that I need to use, then please let me know.

Buy a PCMCIA firewire card for the laptop, insert this card in the data card slot, then through the DV port of camera you can connect the camera to laptop through the cable which comes along with firewire card.

Hi, I have a JVC GR-D750AA digital video camera. I do not know how to download the things recorded to my PC. I have also bought the USB cable n tried but the camera USB port is not recogned by the PC. I do...

Turn the power switch on your camcorder to "Off." Connect the USB cable that came with the camcorder to the USB port on the camcorder. If you are using the DV cable, connect one end of the cable to the computer first. Put the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your computer. If you are using the DV cable, connect it to the camcorder. Power on your camcorder. Wait while your computer recognizes the attached JVC GR-D270U camcorder. Typically you will get a pop-up on your screen asking how you want to proceed once the camcorder has been recognized. Open your video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere, Roxie, iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. Import, or capture, the video from the camcorder to your computer using the video editing software. For example, in iMovie you click on "File," then "Import from Camera" to download the movie from your camcorder to the computer.

Is there software available to allow me to download the audio as well as the vidio from my Panisonic PVGS-90 Camcorder to to my Acer Aspire 4315-2535 Notebook.

Hi,

This camcorder was designed to transfer video using the DV connection. You will need an IEEE connection on your computer and 3rd party software. The IEEE-1394 connection cable and software are optional accessories and not included with this camcorder.

I have a jvc camcorder gr-d370u and i cannot seam to find witch connection i can use to download to my pc now i have two ports one is usb and the other is dv witch one i can use and how

Hello,

1. You need Windows XP with all the latest updates.
2. You need a 6 pin to 4 pin DV cable.
3. You need a firewire card.
Once you plug everything up, launch Windows Movie Maker (download from Microsoft if not installed). That should do it.

One important note. You can't transfer movies with just a USB cable there are more adapters required
Hope This Helps

I have a SAMSUNG mini DV camcorder (model SCD27) and want to find a cable that can download my videos to the computer. I need a DV to USB cable that will be compatible with this camcorder. Please help...

There isn't really a DV to USB cable. They are different standards. There is apparently a converter for this, but the chat on the forums is that it doesn't work properly with video cameras.

If your Windows PC did not come with the Firewire (DV) interface (most don't), you will need to fit an add-on Firewire interface card to the internal PCI bus. This will come with a driver for the card. This can only be done on desktop PCs, not laptops. You can buy the card cheaply on eBay or Amazon. You can get a cable there too, but I expect you got a Firewire cable with your camera.

I have a jvc gr-d33 and am trying to transfer mini dv to dvd through my laptop toshiba satellite l355. on my jvc i have the 4 pin dv and know it has to transfer through firewire but on my toshiba i dont...

I'm afraid that there is chatter on the forums that these Firewire to USB convertors don't work properly with video cameras. That doesn't mean you can't try it, of course.

Most PCs have a USB port, but no Firewire port. Macs often have a Firewire port but may not have USB. If you have a Windows desktop PC, you can fit an add-on Firewire interface card. This will come with a driver for the card. No help on a laptop unfortunately.

JVC camcorder problem

Still shots are stored on the card while movies are stored on the tape. You can transfer still images by placing the card in a media reader or by using a USB cable.

To transfer video you need a DV cable (not supplied with the camcorder). If you don't have a DV cable you can pick one up at BestBuy or most electronics stores.

In addition to the DV cable you also need software to transfer video. I understand Windows Movie Maker will work, but I use a product called Scenalzyer. You can download a free version of Scenalzyer at www.scenalyzer.com. The demo copy is fully functional but will leave a "watermark" on your video. You have to pay for it in order to transfer without the watermark. I think this camcorder may have even come with some software, but I'm not sure.

Many computers will automatically recognize these cameras as soon as they're plugged in, but some will require you to load driver software.

Take a look at this website if you don't have your manual and software guide:

http://camcorder.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL027859&pathId=26&page=10

You can download the manuals in pdf format at the above link.

Lastly, I want you to know that I'm not paid to provide these suggestions. It's a strange hobby I know, but I just like to help when I can. If you found this information helpful I hope you will rate it positively. Over half the solutions I've posted have not been rated.
